Very few, if any plans pay for nursing homes,in home yes.Long term care at a young age is a good thing to investegate.

I was discussing this with a friend the other day.  I can hardly believe that health insurance won't pay for a nursing home.  They take the social security I guess.  But it's mind boggling that the state wants state aid over this instead of a person's own insurance.  What the heck are we paying insurance for?

So in the long run, we ALL are paying for the people in nursing homes?

Do the math.

not that I'm a fan of insurance companies, but paying out 90k+ per annum for every senior in long term nursing care would increase your rates astronomically.

I couldn't afford that and neither could just about anyone else.
