The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

WASHINGTON - Prompted by new intelligence indicating Osama bin Laden reached out to the most feared terrorist in Iraq, President Bush charged Thursday that "al-Qaida still hopes to attack us on our own soil."

"Recently, we learned that Osama bin Laden has urged the terrorist Zarqawi to form a group to conduct attacks outside Iraq, including here in the United States," Bush said at the swearing-in of Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff.

The president vowed, "We're working every day and night to dismantle (bin Laden's) network and to bring him to justice."

Potential suicide attack in Egypt

An explosion went off at a bazaar popular with tourists near Cairo's al-Azhar mosque Thursday, killing one person and wounding eight, police said. It appeared that at least some tourists were among the wounded, police officials said. Their nationalities were not yet known. Police did not rule out the possibility that the blast was an accident, but they also were investigating reports that it was caused by a person on a motorcycle, official said.

The worst of the terrorists are seeking a new war between Islam as a whole and the West. They want the West to go on the attack so they can claim they are defeneding themselves and engage in true Jihad. What better way to incite such an action than to enrage all of the infidels with a single attack?

The question now is, have they been smart enough to anticipate that this day would arrive eventually, so they have a plan that they can dust off and put in action on short notice? Are there sleeper cells who have been waiting five or ten years for this moment?

Well, I was raised to believe in dreams and have seen some amazing things be foretold personally. With the Malachy Prophecy, your wife sounds like her dream is connected to it but one more Pope done the road.

The Malachy has always bothered me due to a dream I had about 20 years ago and I knew the world had seen near fatality. We decided to remove our gasmasks and venture 'up' to the old civilization and we saw a paper and the year was 2031

I am very concerned who they choose for Pope next for I've 'viewed' the potential candidates and SB, some of them give me the 'shivers' and look spiritually swarmy

Dear JP- Unfortunately I believe there will be a showdown with Iran, an it will ultimately end up involving the use of nuclear weapons. I envision Israel as taking the action preemptively to save their nation. Iran has made it clear that it is one of their priorities that Israel cease to exist.

If another country were threatening us in a similar manner, I am almost certain we would choose pre-emptive strikes as well...

Also, there are alot of unknown variables in the nuclear equation in the Middle East....Khan's network has just begun to be exposed, IMO. I would not be surprised to learn that the Saudi's, for example, have some nukes stashed away...

One of the images on a jihadi site (recent) which disappeared showed a troubling image. Of course there was the one picture with the top of the President's head missing with the message that the rest would be cut off. Rather juvenile.

The image that troubled me was the depiction of a heavenly body. (I know that sounds titillating but....) Anyway, it was NOT the usual moon, Venus, Sun, Eclipse or whatever. It looked like a transparent orb on the verge of exploding. A nuke came to mind.

My son (central PA) received an email from a professor he had in college. Among other things, the prof mentioned he had received word that the NEST teams are on the move. I believe these are the individuals who seek out nuclear devices hidden in our cities and elsewhere.

Anyone hear anything about this? The no-longer-welcome site had something about the NEST teams being deployed sometime around Christmas, if I remember correctly....

Your dream gives a sense of hope. I've been of the opinion that we have much less time left. 2031 sounds pretty good to me! I'll be relieved if something does not happen within the coming year- even within the coming months. For example, Iran's threats toward Israel make a response almost imperative. Similarly, China is very clear about her intentions involving Taiwan. And the jihadi's are clear they are awaiting the "big hit"---in fact, it has been delayed...

N. Korea Conducted 140 Nuclear Detonation Tests: Expert



SEOUL, April 7 (Yonhap)

North Korea has successfully completed testing a triggering device for an atomic bomb, a North Korea expert here said Thursday.

According to Chun Sung-hoon, a researcher at the state-run Korea Institute for National Unification, the North has secured between 24.5 kilograms to 39.5 kilograms of weapons-grade plutonium as of July 2003.
