The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

WASHINGTON - Prompted by new intelligence indicating Osama bin Laden reached out to the most feared terrorist in Iraq, President Bush charged Thursday that "al-Qaida still hopes to attack us on our own soil."

"Recently, we learned that Osama bin Laden has urged the terrorist Zarqawi to form a group to conduct attacks outside Iraq, including here in the United States," Bush said at the swearing-in of Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff.

The president vowed, "We're working every day and night to dismantle (bin Laden's) network and to bring him to justice."

Terror Suspects Buying Firearms, U.S. Report Finds

WASHINGTON, March 7 - Dozens of terror suspects on federal watch lists were allowed to buy firearms legally in the United States last year, according to a Congressional investigation that points up major vulnerabilities in federal gun laws.

People suspected of being members of a terrorist group are not automatically barred from legally buying a gun, and the investigation, conducted by the Government Accountability Office, indicated that people with clear links to terrorist groups had regularly taken advantage of this gap. (snip)

Actually, your observation of going green is a good one and probably indicative of something...

Yes I have noticed that, for at least a month or more.
Not all sites went with the green, some have stayed
with the black flag, others green with a black flag, others
green with UBL in the center, others green with GIM logo and
still others green with 2 rifles crossed, or hands grasped, etc.

IN MY SPECULATIVE OPINION, it's just regrouping. Just
like cats pee on certain spots to mark their territories,
just like gang bangers who mark their turfs with graffiti;
well the jihad or islamists-extremists or supporters of jihad
or just general interesting sites have gone green to mark their new groupings.
