U.S. Draws Jeers for Abortion Comments at UN

UNITED NATIONS - Jeers and catcalls greeted the top U.S. delegate to a global women's conference on Friday as she stressed Washington's opposition to abortion and support for sexual abstinence and fidelity.

After withdrawing an unpopular anti-abortion amendment from a key U.N. document, the United States joined in approving the declaration that reaffirmed a 150-page platform agreed 10 years ago at a landmark U.N. women's conference in Beijing.

However, top U.S. delegate Ellen Sauerbrey drew boos from the audience, which included some of the 6,000 activists who came from around the world, when she commented on Washington's interpretation of the document.

"We have stated clearly and on many occasions ... that we do not recognize abortion as a method of family planning, nor do we support abortion in our reproductive health assistance," Sauerbrey said.

Oh my god. The Brownshirts have really taken over at the UN, I've never seen them this foul and aggressive and antiamerican. They're hysterical, they have not a drop of tolerance for other viewpoints and they are trying to persuade the rest of the world to commit population suicide just as the eurotrash have. until the UN gains a little better track record of backing up their own resolutions (i.e. Iraq) I have a hard to keeping my eyes from glazing over whenever anything is mentioned to suggest an inkling of credibility of worth.

Did you see that eurotrash that called AMERICA 'hijackers' for the 'crime' of not agreeing with their eurotrash approach. I think it's time for regime change in places of the world we've never thought about in the last five decades lately.

how rude. kudos to Ellen for stating the country's stance on the issue, although the U.S. looks increasingly weaker as it gives in to things like dropping the amendment.
