What is the most awesomely bad love song ever? The one that makes you cringe when you hear it, but you just can't turn it off. What love song makes you shake your head, roll your eyes, laugh, gag, shed a tear, or just punch something because it's so horrendously great that you love to hate it. Or is it vice versa? VH1 is counting down the 40 Most Awesomely Bad Love Songs....The kind of songs that might end a relationship rather than enhance it. You get the drift.
Join us as we count down and celebrate fantastically cheesy lyrics, the best and worst metaphors, awkward and confusing themes, and of course, those strange, misguided flukes from our favorite artists, while our team of experts help explain why we've deemed these songs so (un)worthy. We've been covering our ears, shutting off the radio, and running from the room screaming for too long. It's time to ban these songs to our awesomely bad Hall of F(Sh)ame!

I nominate ALL "power ballads."
She was a great talent, but the song is puerile.
Are you dissin' even Bon Jovi? Poison? Motley Crue??
(eyeball roll)...
Thank you.
Indeed, pretty bad.
And, to answer a reply from someone else, Neil Diamond is/was a great songwriter: i.e., "Solitary Man," "Holly Holy," "Red Red Wine," "Kentucky Woman." Like all songwriters, he has had his forgettable moments - "Song Sung Blue," the "Jonathan Livingston Seagull" soundtrack.
That was from "Arthur", heck, I would of drunk myself into oblivion after hearing that.
I'd read that Bobby Sherman was a volunteer paramedic. He drives around in a car full of medical equipment and supplies.
Am I the only one here who likes "Afternoon Delight" and
"Sugar Shack?"
Yes the Everly's "Bowling Green" is good. I have "The Definitive Everly Brothers" CD. Lots of cool obscure stuff. They do a rendition of "Love is Strange" that is fantastic ! The Everly Bros can do no wrong in my eyes.
That's David Lee Roth who is the volunteer paramedic. I think Bobby Sherman works for the police department.
Thank you! I absolutely HATE that song.
I heard Eric Burdon(formerly lead singer with the Animals) sing at a street fair in Hoboken a few months ago. He still has a great voice and has aged well.
My first thought. Second place is Seasons In The Sun (Caution, this cite plays the music, without lyrics.)
With the possible exception of the UFO of the late 70s.
The Searchers were another good British Invasion group. I just read in the paper today that their drummer had died. He had become an accountant, or something like that.
Afternoon Delight by Starlight Vocal Band.
Or anything by Bread.
Neil is a good singer/writer, and a nice guy..one of our locals. But...."not even the chair".....: )
Unnngh......
"1) IN-A-GADDA-DA-VIDA (what the h*** was THAT anyway?) "
Now you did it.
Flash back time.
