The Searchers were another good British Invasion group. I just read in the paper today that their drummer had died. He had become an accountant, or something like that.

I read that today, too, and I agree that they were a great group.

I just remembered a bad song from the early 60s: "The Bird is the Word" by the Trashmen.

Oh dang, I liked The Searchers! Needles and Pins is one of my favorite songs from my Junior High years!

Chris Curtis-real name Chris Crummy was the Searchers' drummer,first front man, and song writer/selector/arranger. He left the group in 1966, did some record producing for the Barry brothers, formed a group called Roundabout, which evolved into Deep Purple after he left it, and went to work for the British IRS until he took medical retirement.Before his death, he began appearing around Liverpool with some local guys. Believe he was 63. Details can be found on the Searchers' website. The Searchers' were, and are, my favorite band.
