I know where you are coming from Torie, but don't you think it would be best for us to reserve this type of fawning for folks who truly deserve it? We lament the decline of our society aided in no small part by the very people attending this event, then support them through bumping up their ratings for events like this. Many of them know our opinions of them. If I were one of them I'd view us as a bunch of clowns for acting like we do when they are the main focus on nights like this. Do we view these folks has very detrimental to our society, or don't we?

I just celebrate the talent and the beauty, and the excess for one night a year, and the clunkers. Pop culture is part of who we are. America is all of it.

Do we view these folks as very detrimental to our society, or don't we? Some yes, some no. Lumping all of 'em into one "detrimental" category would be inaccurate. High quality films are still made, and they're one of our culture's treasures.
