Honestly, I think in general, Hollywood's been behaving (shut up and act) much better this year. Or I've missed reports. They were hit hard in their pocket books and consensus is that the audience tonight will be lighter than in previous years. Loss of $$ speaks volumes to these limousine liberals.

Good so far. A Rocky V joke in the opening monologue is a good sign

Charlize Theron's dress looks like my older sister's senior prom dress from 1960. The only difference is that my sister's used a hoop.

Anyone who owns their own home and wears a Che T-shirt really has no clue.
What am I saying. Anyone who wears a Che T-shirt really has no clue!! (But if they own private property too, oh, that is truly beyond stupid.)

Good Jude Law joke too, and pretty true.

Here I am going between the Tony Snow cancer surgery thread and this Oscar thread. Such a sharp contrast to what's really important in life. I do like to see the "stars" in their finery tonight, and actually do think that some of them do earn our respect. ( Some, not many)
Maybe it's my age, but I just don't have the same excitement that I experienced for so many years regarding this event.
I think that the liberal political view out of Hollywood , over the past 8 years or so have really soured me.
I'll watch for a while, but will deem the whole event pretty shallow and meaningless.
