I am just getting really sick and tired of the attempt of the UN to institute a world government.

"With its entry into force, countries, party to the treaty, are bound to translate its general provisions into national laws and regulations. They will have, for example, three years to ensure that tobacco packaging has strong health warnings, or five years to establish comprehensive advertising, promotion and sponsorship bans."

Swearing will be next. "John Spartan you have been fined one credit for violation of the morality code."

Actually, taking away our guns will be next, THEN they get around to "hate speech", as defined by the World government.

However, some believe the treaty is weakened by the refusal of the US to become a member.Good.

I'm really against smoking and don't mind all the restrictions placed on smokers in this country as I've known many people who've suffered terribly from smoking but why do they have to go out and put together a global government solution for this? I am glad the U.S didn't sign.

The point is not smoking, it's that it's NOT the job of the government, especially not some world government to regulate personal behavior.
I can see regulations in government building, to protect non-smokers, or companies making non-smoking rules inside buildings to protect their employees, etc., but the government shouldn't tell restaurants and private establishments that they have to ban smoking, etc.

and agree to increase tax on tobacco sales. It's all about the $$$. They make the laws, then have to tax us more for enforcement. Oh yeah, with all this control, somebody is going to get a kickback. Thank goodness for GWB who stands up to this nonsense (ICC, Kyoto, etc.).

First they came for the Communists, and I didnt speak up, because I wasnt a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didnt speak up, because I wasnt a Jew.
Then they came for the Catholics, and I didnt speak up, because I was a Protestant.
Then they came for me, and by that time there was no one left to speak up for me.

Other people joined in.
We need to join immediately! We dont want to miss the boat or be UNILATERAL do we?
More centralized thought by bureaucrats who justify their existence with political correct nonsense, who think people are too stupid to make their own decisions, and believe only an all-powerful group think government can solve all the worlds problems with more rules and forms.
