On the radio as breaking so far!
My new tagline: There are times when the Rule of Law needs an override.
Petition to impeach Greer. Pass it on.

It's my understanding that MS has spent $400,000 on Lawyers and Terri's medical bills have been paid by Medicaid (illegally at that). He has purchased himself a beautiful home, decks himself out with gold chains and gold bracelet. He's missued those funds for sure. I'm not sure what would be left but since he spent NOTHING on Rehab or care, and 400,000 to the Lawyer, that leaves quite a chunk of change that he has lavished on himself and his concubine there.
it was my understanding that they grew into children only becasue they were kept on the respirator. If he will NEVER be able to breath on his own then it is different then if he can breathe on his own no matter what the mental damage.
I am sympathetic. Doctors tried to starve me to death under the guise of I would never have 'a normal life' and they were wrong. However, I do object to the child being on a breathing ventilator for his entire life.
I'm not saying the mother's lack of reality affects the legal/moral issues, but it doesn't help her case, and probably harms it. People are not likely to be sympatheic, which is a shame.
Florida Voter help me out with the Petition on George Greer please!!! It was posted last night on one of the threads.
How many signatures are needed.
This is a great petition!
Hi Tracey. I hope the guy doesn't get the chance to even get married. I'd like to see him in a striped suit behind bars.
CALLER: Yes. Does it bother you that the death is so slow? Maybe Dr. Kevorkian-style would be a faster, more peaceful way?
SCHIAVO: Removing somebody's feeding is very painless. It is a very easy way to die. Probably the second better way to die, being the first being an aneurysm.
And it doesn't bother me at all. I've seen it happen. I had to do it with my own parents.
FELOS: You know, Larry, I want to make something very clear about that.
The law is very clear. This is not euthanasia. This is not assisted suicide. This is letting nature take its course.
Gee if eating and drinking is "artificial" means of staying alive, we are ALL living as disabled folks. How absurd huh?
I'm sure you're RIGHT. Thank you for what is for me new information about the person who runs the hospice. You mean PAID OFF by Medicaid.
Agreed. I am sure there is little left.

In the News/Activism forum, on a thread titled Terri Schiavo gets another 48 hours, Deo volente wrote:
Yes, MICHAEL SCHIAVO STARVED AND DEHYDRATED HIS OWN PARENTS TO DEATH.
He said it himself, on the Larry King Show.
Here's an excerpt, and a link to the CNN transcript. It makes for some scary reading.

And Schiavo REFUSES to produce the bank records. I suppose they are "sealed" somewhere also.
The first several years, Terri's care was paid for by the Schindlers and some of Terri's health insurance from her benefits with Prudential. The 'windfall' came in Feb. 2003. On top of the rehab money, Michael was awarded $300,000 for loss of consortium. Kind of like when people win the lottery, I don't think Michael was exactly frugal with it, although that is more speculation on my part rather than fact.
However, the money in the trust fund is expected to be invested wisely, and I think that the bank who holds the trust account is supposed to advise and help out with accomplishing that. The area newspapers did a track on it at one point, I believe around 97/98 (but it could have been later), and at that point there was still $750,000 left in the trust. It is documented that it wasn't hit hard until the lawyers for Michael got hold of it, to the tune of $500,000 +. Felos recently claimed that there was ~ $60,000 left in the account.
YUP sometimes, like here, the Law is a Complete ASS!!
As much as I dislike the old coot, I have a quotation from LBJ on my FR homepage that reads:
"You do not examine legislation in light of the benefits it will convey if properly administered, but in light of the wrongs it would do and the harms it would cause if improperly administered." Lyndon Baines Johnson
Yes, we live under laws. Some of them are atrocious.
Why does that not suprise me?

Dr. Hammesfahr said the brain scan was 75% of normal size. An improvement from a previous scan he said. Source:
Ron Panzer's AUDIO interview with Dr. Hammesfahr who performed tests on Terri for 10 hours.
