WHY would a serious journalist like Peter Jennings tackle a silly subject like UFOs? Maybe it's because 40 million Americans can't be wrong. It turns out that 40 million of us have claimed to have seen UFOs, while half yes, half of all Americans believe in their existence < snip >
So, why, if millions of people have seen UFOs, are the eyewitnesses immediately reduced to the level of raving loonies (from "lunar")? Interestingly enough, that is the legacy of another successful government PR campaign < snip >
The feds thought they could keep a lid on UFO sightings and keep a budding worldwide panic under control by making witnesses look crazy. Yes, it seems you could fool all of the people all of the time < snip >
Good for Jennings for reaching for the stars!

You started the thread with: She probably always assumed that UFOs were not real and people who thought they were real were nuts. But then Peter Jennings told her otherwise, so now she knows better.
That is MORE THAN sufficient provocation, for me. Some of us take this topic more than a little seriously--because we recognize the earth changing, society changing issues involved. And, some of us recognize the eternal life issues involved.
Certainly I have responsed very slightly in kind REGARDING YOUR POSITION, your contentions.
You have assaulted and insulted my personhood, my sanity, my IQ.
Nevertheless, in my latter posts, there was a growing tenderhearted concern toward you. I'm sorry you missed it.
Petah Jennings has now attained Geraldo Rivera status.
A memorable quote!:-)
I have personally seen, and I think I even filled out, an SF-171. Harrowing experience, worse than being probed by aliens. I cannot remember actually filling it out because it was so horrible, and I probably had no chance of getting the job. I think this one might have been for a federal judicial clerkship where during the interview the old salt who ran the office mentioned how it is a great job for a woman. (I am a white man.) The experience of filling out the form has been blocked by my memory to protect me from the trauma.
I clearly remember filling out the governemnt resume on usajobs.com, which resume is an on-line successor to the SF-171 monstrosity. It dies in 3 or 6 months if you do not use it or update it. I used it to apply for a half-time GS-11 job right around the corner from me, but some HR person in Norfolk, VA decided I did not have the minimum prereqs to even let the nice folks around the corner from me see my resume.
Thanks for your kind responses. LOL about the blue guy. Yeah, Whitley supposedly had contact with some.
Where do you believe we differ RE The Bible and all this stuff?
"Where do you believe we differ RE The Bible and all this stuff?"
I do not equate alien visitation with any shade of Armageddon. I do not correlate aliens with God/Devil, Good/Evil, Righteousness/Degeneracy any more than those capacities are evident in we flawed human beings.
Pancake. Bunny. Et al.
Ahhhh. It took me a very long time to arrive at such conclusions.
And, I still hold out the possibility that a given race or so of ET's may well be on God's side.
Certainly 2/3rds the angels are.
But the rest of the ET's do such hideous, deceptive, even evil things, there's no way I could construe them as on God's side.
And, given so many reports of their being in cahoots with the puppet masters' manipulations of society, geopolitical stuff . . . hard to have another conclusion.
But then, I started the ET study way back in Jr High--after it had progressed past the sci-fi curiosity stage--I started early wondering if it wouldn't play into the End Times scenarios somehow.
Nevertheless, I still held out hope that at worst, there might be a 50/50 good ET/bad ET division in the end time events. Just doesn't seem to match the data at this point.
Even the purported 'good guys' seem to be deeply entrenched with the globalist designs for the planet.
Wish I could have another perspective. Just doesn't match tons and tons of puzzle pieces.
Now, do flying saucers or little green men exist? No, I don't think so. But UFOs most definitely exist.
So, in your opinion, UFOs exist but not in the shape of saucers. Interesting, very interesting............
Thank You, Quix.
Sometimes it seems like you are the sole voice of reason on these UFO threads.
The original "Flying saucers" weren't saucers, ironically enough. Kenneth Arnold in 1947 saw some crescent-shaped objects flying in formation, with a characteristic of "saucers skipping on water" or some similiar statement. The media coined the term "flying saucers" from that...
O.K.
;)
Quix, can you put me on your UFO ping list? Thanks
THANKS TONS FOR YOUR KIND WORDS.
They are not always greatly in evidence on these threads! And certainly a long list of naysayers would disagree with you! LOL. I should ignore them more. Many people tell me that. I can be a slow learner on that score! LOL.
Hope to see you tonight on the thread:

My little conspiracy theory is that the government promotes the idea of UFO's and Area 51 in order to hide something else. Sort of like a shell game. After the derision and laughter - at me - has died down, I will say what I think that something else is.
Perhaps this is reaching toooo much . . . however . . .
it is beginning
to be very interesting to me that
1) Pope is on his last whatevers--however long it takes. And it increasingly appears to not be slated to be long.
2) Geopolitical maneuverings are hot and heavy--what's the surface; what's under the surface?
3) Middle east is AT LEAST as . . . dynamic . . . potentially explosive/troubled/complex . . . almost as ever.
4) Some somewhat unusual quake stuff continues.
5) SIGNS in the heavens have been multiplying in terms of unusual findings from astronomers the last several weeks.
6) LOTS of spiritually sensitive folks have talked of dreams and visions of angels being tasked with getting extra ready, alert, on the brink of some unknown super big effort/move/battle/drama on God's orders. Some FREEPERS are in that category.
7) The common examples of church--are as horridly following the manual in many respects as ever--cries, sorrow, grief over RELIGION vs the PRESENCE AND MOVING OF GOD in the congregation and through the congregations to the hurting world--as Blackaby--EXPERIENCING THE PRESENCE OF GOD--puts it so well in his latest video series--serious stuff folks and looks like it's getting worse unless God undertakes a huge overhaul.
8) And now we have Jennings and his show.
Interesting time to be alive, at least.
I saw a UFO in the mid-70s. It was about 5am, just starting to get light, and very foggy. I was on the highway. I saw a silver UFO hovering above a farm field. I stopped and watched it for a few minutes. Then, I got out of my car, ran across four lanes of highway, climbed a fence, and trotted into the field -- only to find a water tower with its legs enshrouded in fog.
What have you got against Martians? What did a Martian ever do to you?
