NEW YORK (Billboard) - Korn guitarist Brian "Head" Welch has parted ways with the hard rock act, citing a recent religious awakening.
Welch broke the news Sunday on Bakersfield, Calif., station KRAB-FM.
"I had it in my heart to come here and explain to you," Welch said. "I'm good friends with Korn. I love those guys, and they love me, and they're very happy for me."
Addressing the aggressive tone of the music he made with Korn, Welch said, "Anger is a good thing, and if kids want to listen to Korn, good, but there's happiness after the anger. I'm going to show it through my actions how much I love my fans."
Welch added that he would be appearing at a local church on Feb. 27, during which time he would "speak (about) how I got to this place in my life, and I'll answer all your questions."
On its official Web site (http://www.korn.com), Korn's remaining members said they respect Welch's wishes and hope "he finds the happiness he is searching for." The group is in the studio working on a new album, due in September, which will be its first since fulfilling its contract with Epic last year.
For now, no replacement for Welch has been named, nor has a new label home for the band.
Yes, "Take a bath" and "Get a job" is still good advice!
Oh my GOD. If I could take a pic of my face you would see tears streaming down my face right now. I am actually crying that page is so funny!!!!! I am choking because if I laugh out loud my boss is going to come in and I'll be in trouble.
Holy crap that is the funniest web page ever. ahahhahaha
hahahahah
Oh boy, THANK YOU!
PS- you gotta get up with me about that new traders list I was telling you about. FR-mail me.
I think that the problem with Korn is it is highly derivative of many popular bands within the genre - although when viewed on its own merits, it does have a deeper groove. However, what it has in groove it lacks in originality. One can't help but be reminded of such bands as Pearl Jam, White Zombie, Suicidal Tendancies and other bands that bear the mantle of so-called "alternative rock." One is even reminded of Lorie Anderson when she wore curlers. This video speaks less to the heart and more to the sphincter. In closing, I think Korn would do well to learn more from . . . (smack)
That has GOT TO BE, hands down, the most ecclectic tape I've heard of. I am in AWE! Cradle of Filth...Portishead and Gordon Lightfoot... brilliant!
All he needs now is some Kate Smith and Boxcar Willie...
I liked the South Park episode with Korn, that was a parody of Scooby Doo.
Stapp tries too hard to not be pigeon holed as a "Christian" artist... This guy appears to be VERY proud of his new relationship with Jesus, unlike Stapp.
I'm talking "Imsosorry.com" hilarity, here.
As for the whole issue of Korn's premature breakup, I have to say, I'm disappointed at this unlikely turn of events.
After that masterful cover of "Word Up", as I was sure that these men would inherit the mantle of best thrash-metal/rap indie band from the Rolling Stones.
WHY GOD? WHY???!!!
(Rails at the heavens. Shakes fist angrily at the sky. Curses the sinister, anti-musical forces who made this possible.)
Stapp has, in the past year, undergone a great spiritual transformation. What you posted no longer applies to him.
Dani from Cradle of Filth comes in 4th only because he is so incredibly gay. First of all, there is no black metal band that has sold out quite like Cradle of Filth. Secondly, there is no other black metal band that loves to have pictures taken of them as much as Cradle of Filth. And lastly, Dani always has to be doing something stupid and/or gay in virtually all of the band photos. Why? Well, he's obviously watched Interview With a Vampire one too many times. The theatrics just need to stop. This is one of his few un-photoshopped pics. STOP IT! Also, Cradle of Filth is from Helsinki, Sweden.

Helsinki, Sweden... LOL this site is awesome!

Gorgoroth
Wait, are those suspenders? Oh, f@#k, you gotta be kidding me. And he's got his hair in a ponytail. Not only that, but I beleive he's carrying a scyth. He's a f@#$ing black metal farmer! &@$^$ @$*^ this picture is gay. What's up with the hooded avenger in the back? And who is that goliath moth@#&$%ker? Holy s#!t that guy is huge! Don't f@#k with Gorgoroth man!

Oh God, I'm crying again over here hahahahahahahah
Yes
You don't need to cut your hair or remove your tattoos to be a Christian.
I'm certain John Tesh is really a tool of Satan. That music is just too evil not to be.
I doubt it since the unnecessary use of the F word is a hallmark of Korn's music. "Ass Itch" is a song who's title I can at least post in this forum, but you wouldn't want to hear the lyrics.
God bless him. I love Korn's "sound." Danged if I can understand their lyrics.
Resurrection Band, aka REZ, is hands-down the best Christian hard-rock band ever. Period.
Well, since a good portion of the band "Misfits" has passed on...
Korn covered "word up"?
I liked the original, if it is the tune I'm thinking of.
I like most of the Korn I have heard.
I wouldn't mind hearing the cover of that tune by that band.
***Time to start a new kick a$$ Christian rock band.***
With Creed frontman Scott Stapp? HAHAHA that would be interesting...
