He got a big settlement for medical malpractice for her care, like 1.2 million. He promised to use it on her rehabilitation and gave no indication that he would ever pull the feeding tube at the time. (some of the testimony from that trial is posted above.) I think he's claiming that it's almost all gone towards her care already, but hasn't offered evidence of that. But the parents have offered to let him keep the money if he will turn her over to them.

As somebody mentioned, if they divorce she might get half of his assets gained during their marriage due to it being a community property state, so that could be another motive.

Another thing is that the circumstances of her ending up the way she is are kind of sketchy, and there is talk of some neck wounds when she was originally admitted. So maybe, the speculation goes, he doesn't want her to recover because he's got something to hide.

I'm not vouching for the accuracy of any of this.. it's just stuff I've read here and there

Never understimate the power of prayer. So many have, havent' they? They rant on and on about this and that and what is legal and illegal and what is right and what is wrong and what they will do or not do down the line...all the while FORGETTING there is a power far above us that will make the untimate decision. To belive anything else is to laugh in the face of God.

"Does he have a life insurance policy out on her?"

When Terri was first hospitalized, he sued and won around a million dollars, but only for Terri's care, which is why he insisted he wanted to money. To give her the best treatment available. He even cried on the stand.

Shortly after the award, he did a 180 and decided that he didn't want Terri to to have any treatment whatever and wanted her completely dead instead. I think a lot of grief would have been saved if laws had been in place to force him to return the award money since he wasn't using it for Terri as he was supposed to.

This seems to be an update:

Schiavo Husband Says Will Ignore One-Day Stay Of Death Order

http://www.theempirejournal.com/02220524_schiavo_husband_says_wi.htm

"

While her estranged husband, Michael Schiavo and attorney, George Felos are threatening to withhold the gastric feeding tube that provides her nutrition and water three times a day which will cause her death by starvation, Sixth Circuit Court judge George W. Greer has issued a temporary one day stay that prohibits them from doing so until a hearing on Wednesday.

Felos faxed a letter to Judge Greer stating that Greer no longer has jurisdiction to issue further stays and that Schiavo will proceed the remove the feeding tube on Feb 22 at 1 pm. Felos indicated that he will authorize the Woodside Hospice to remove her feeding tube tomorrow despite Greer's order. "

Since it's now past 1 pm Feb 22 on the East Coast, I hope that meanst they did not remove her feeding tube.

Some amazing things have happened with the help of St. Jude. I first heard about him from the story of Danny Thomas and the St. Jude Children's Hospital founding.

" Does anyone really think the liberal citizenry and courts would consider that not to be cruel and unusual punishment?"

I've never even thought about that point. But yes, they would. They would probably advocate euthanasia, but frankly, a woman who can still say "hi" and "yeah", and look at and smile upon recognition, her parents, is not a damn vegetable.

Liberals will cry a million tears for death row murderers, terrorists, and other assorted filth, but when innocent, helpless life is involved, not a friggin drop.

We also need to pray to St. Raphael, for healing. God Bless.

Good...go arrest him for contempt of court. Then forbid him food and water.

"The irony, of course, is that her parents will most likely file a civil suit against him seeking damages from her insurance policy as soon as she expires (if she does)."

NOT TRUE.

" Michael Schiavo has refused a settlement officer by her parents to go about his way with all financial rewards and considerations if he will just cease his efforts to end their daughter’s life and allow her parents to care for her. "

The parents were willing to have Michael keep all the money, just so he stops trying to kill their daughter.

have they offered to let him keep his damm money?

They've offered. It's here Terris Fight under press releases, "Why Won’t Michael Schiavo Just Let Terri Go Home?"

Well, this could be a good thing. Contempt of court for Felos and Mikey (and the person who actually removes the tube). Then, maybe, Felos will pi$$ off Greer enough that he stops giving Felos and Co their every wish. Go ahead Felos, make my day.

I prayed your prayer to St. Jude. It must have helped. I will keep on saying it. Thanks.

"Perhaps he had a change of heart."

It's only until tomorrow. We'll see if he really has a change of heart.

Would it violate animal cruelty laws to deliberately let a pet cat starve and dehydrate to death?

Do non-Florida residents count? I know I signed another one over there (one to Gov Bush?), and was unclear as to whether it would count as I don't reside in Florida.
