Virginia man charged in alleged plot to assassinate Bush By MATTHEW BARAKAT
Associated Press Writer
ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) -- A former high school valedictorian in Virginia was charged Tuesday with conspiring to assassinate President Bush and conspiracy to support the al-Qaida terrorist network.
Ahmed Omar Abu Ali, 23, a U.S. citizen, made an initial appearance Tuesday in U.S. District Court. He claimed that he was tortured while detained in Saudi Arabia since June of 2003 and offered through his lawyer to show the judge his scars.
The indictment said that in 2002 and 2003 Abu Ali and an unidentified coconspirator discussed plans for Abu Ali to assassinate Bush. They discussed two scenarios, the indictment said, one in which Abu Ali "would get close enough to the president to shoot him on the street" and, alternatively, "an operation in which Abu Ali would detonate a car bomb."

The 9-11 commission stated that Saddam had nothing to do with those terrorist attacks. Open your eyes, people. Who's eyes are closed?

Christians have caused their fair share of problems (crusades) in the name of God. I love the PC rewriting of history. Lets try and remember why they started in the first place....wholesale slaughter of Christian communities by muslims. Does that make everything done in the Crusades good....NO, but there are reasons for the starting of the Crusades and it did not start with the Church but with muslims killing(oh dear, do I detect a theme that runs throughout history).
Some of the most horrible things the West has done in its history has been done to save itself from advancing islamic hoards and the killing that goes with that territory. Does not make it right, but be honest about the reason and what was going on at the time.

Every time you people keep saying things connecting Iraq and 9-11, you prove your lack of intelligence. The 9-11 commission stated that Saddam had nothing to do with those terrorist attacks.
Newsweek Magazine:
"In January 1993, as the official Baghdad Observer newspaper reported, [Saddam's Vice Chairman] Izzat Ibrahim al-Duri hosted a convention for 'more than 1,000 religious, political and cultural dignitaries from 51 countries,' urging them 'to conduct holy jihad against the U.S. and its allies.'"
One month later, jihadi terrorists (the kind Saddam Hussein's state- run newspaper called "religious, political, and cultural dignitaries") perpetrated their first bombing of the World Trade Center. The man who made the bomb and masterminded that attack, Abdul Rahman Yasin fled our country immediately after the mass murder in New York City. Yasin went to Iraq where he was harbored by Saddam's regime and given a regular stipend.
Saddam Hussein was in cahoots with the terrorists, period.
What did Saddam Hussein do with his chemical and biological weapons? We know he had them. What did he do with them?
I'll withdraw the question, since no one outside of his band of evil tortuous killers knows what he did with them. In 1991, the butcher of Baghdad was desperate to save his skin after losing the first Gulf War that he started. So Saddam made an agreement, in order to keep from being ousted, that he would account for tons and tons of weapons and allow outside inspectors to witness their destruction. He didn't do that, and now no one really knows what happened to tons of deadly chem-bio weapons.
Christians have caused their fair share of problems (crusades) in the name of God.
Um, excuse me, but that was like A THOUSAND YEARS AGO.
Do you consider yourself hateful bigots? Because the rest of the world, including many people in the states, does.
No, they consider me a ZIONIST, becuase I like Jews and they (you?) hate them.
Remember all of those white Christian assasins who actually tried/accomplished killing presidents?
Baloney, not one of them from the last 50 years was a Christian.

Lets ask this question to the MSM:
Which of these is a more important fact to this story:
1) Former HS Valedictorian plots to kill president.
2) American Muslim goes to Saudi Arabia, joins Al Qaeda and plots to kill president.
Obviously, #2 is much more relevant to the story. I bet if the guy had won a spelling bee in 4th grade and not been valedictorian we would be hearing "ex-spelling bee champion plots to kill Bush".

Who do you think you are? I don't care if you are a martian. Your facts are wrong. And whose culture was raped? I believe it was Jewish and Christian culture that was not only raped, but burned to the ground by the so-called Religion of Peace. Before you get on here and start arguing, you might want to fact-check your argument.
And in case you haven't noticed, the iraqi people are pleased as punch to be determining their own destiney...I doubt that they would accuse us of "raping" their culture. Oh, and BTW , that culture was one where a young woman could get plucked off the street to be raped by Uday or Qsay...and her family might be shoved into wood chippers just for fun, too. Or have acid poured over them. Violent enough for you?
And where I live is none of your business. What are you gonna do, come after me? I suspect there are a few FReepers around who might find your insinuation troubling...

Sorry Jack, but after 9/11 most Americans finally woke up to the threat that militant Islam (which unfortunately is the predominant strain of Islam today) poses to our country. It took over 20 years, but it finally happened. We can take a hint.
Hope you enjoyed your short stay here. Don't come back.

Do you consider yourself hateful bigots? Because the rest of the world, including many people in the states, does. Hateful bigotry to actually understand that a religion wants you dead if you refuse to convert and point that out??? Sorry birdman, as a woman islam offers nothing but slavery. It is a philosophy that deserves my total contempt, otherwise I would be truly stupid.
You may want to stick your head in the sand with pc garbage that hides the truth, but whether you like it or not there are philosophy's out there that deserve to be fought otherwise the nazis would rule today. You either have the guts to recognize the dangerous groups or you appease them and loose the freedoms you have once they have become too powerful to fight. It has absolutely nothing to do with bigotry but common sense and recognizing evil when seen.

More than 100 supporters of Abu Ali crowded the courtroom and laughed when the charge was read aloud alleging that he conspired to assassinate Bush. I hope took photos and got IDs of these losers.
