Virginia man charged in alleged plot to assassinate Bush By MATTHEW BARAKAT
Associated Press Writer
ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) -- A former high school valedictorian in Virginia was charged Tuesday with conspiring to assassinate President Bush and conspiracy to support the al-Qaida terrorist network.
Ahmed Omar Abu Ali, 23, a U.S. citizen, made an initial appearance Tuesday in U.S. District Court. He claimed that he was tortured while detained in Saudi Arabia since June of 2003 and offered through his lawyer to show the judge his scars.
The indictment said that in 2002 and 2003 Abu Ali and an unidentified coconspirator discussed plans for Abu Ali to assassinate Bush. They discussed two scenarios, the indictment said, one in which Abu Ali "would get close enough to the president to shoot him on the street" and, alternatively, "an operation in which Abu Ali would detonate a car bomb."
Thanks, I will be off line most of today and tomorrow. However, N Va is like a little old Iraq, current Syria and Iran for these Islamofascists.

June 11, 2003 -- At the behest of the US Government, Mr. Abu Ali was arrested by Saudi security officers while he was taking his final exams at Medina University.
June 11, 2003 -- On the same date, in Falls Church, Virginia, more than 15 armed FBI agents raided the home of Mr. Abu Alis parents. They broke doors; frightened the children; and took video games belonging to the five-year-old son, family magazines, and other unrelated items. According to the search warrant, they were looking for items related to the seven defendants in the U.S. vs. Royer paintball case, and for any violations of the Neutrality Act. During the raid, FBI agents told Mr. Abu Alis family that he had been arrested by the Saudis in an investigation of the May 12 Riyadh bombings.
An honor student...Is that little mention of his being valedictorian supposed to make him sympathetic or likeable? Sheesh.
Lapland...that's the real hot-bed of terrorist training. They are developing reindeer-bombs that can penetrate concrete bunkers.
And that does not change one bit what the actually koran teaches. All that proves is that only a small fraction have the will to carry out the teachings of the koran while the other 1.2 billion support them (because they sure as hell are not fighting them) with their money and hearts. Sorry, but the West can actually read, and because we can read we learn and understand what the religion is actually teaching and now know it to be the enemy.
The rag head comment was not pc or nice, but it was not racial either.... it was a derogatory reference to the practitioners of a religion of hatred and death. Somehow I do not think you would find fault with derogatory phrases used against the klu klux klan, nazis or satanist, they definitely deserve derision. Like it or not, people have figured out exactly what islam is and teaches and it deserves that exact same derision. Otherwise we desirve our fate at its hands if we do not fight it.
"I'm waiting for CAIR to condemn this as a plot to make Islam look bad."
Ain't that the truth!
The pro-terrorist Democrats have a new hero. Maybe they'll invite him , via video link from his prison cell, to the next Democrat National Convention.
How quickly we forget the 70's and 80's and shiite terrorist supported by Iran. I think they still support terrorism against Israel today. The koran is the koran and the fundamental teachings are the same through out all branches of islam.
That's a great immigration system where a terrorist can become a citizen but don't G-d forbid a nice Canadian girl get the opportunity to serve in the US military.
Excuse me????
Denounced loud and clear by the Christian community.
Yah, as soon as I read "Virginia Man", I assumed it was an Muslim.
Amish?
The Crusades were IN RESPONSE to Muslim aggression. Jews and Christians lived in Jerusalem and the Holy Land for six centuries (longer for the Jews) before the Muslims came along. Oh, and Spain was Christian, too, before the Moors hit it. Did we mention Turkey? It was Constantinople before it was Istanbul.
The numbers you cite for Iraqi citizen deaths have been proven false...you are relying on a statistical analysis that has no merit.
While a Christian may do evil things, the New Testament nowhere encourages killing others and assassinating leaders. The Koran, on the other hand....
The 9/11 commission stated there were no FORMAL ties between Iraq and 9/11. The Duelpher report confirms that there were plenty of contacts between Sadaam Hussein and Al-Qaeda.
Don't come on hear and spout lies. I am but a mere amateur compared to some of the folks on this thread and they will FRY your hide.
Sheesh. Hear = here.
