It is not just Britons, fed up with overcrowding and poor weather, who look to another continent for a new life. Across the Channel, the Dutch middle classes are quitting clogged roads and street violence in numbers unheard of in living memory.

Australia is a top destination for a wave of migration among educated Dutch people, sparked by racial strife and increasing unrest in the Netherlands. The murder of homosexual populist politician Pim Fortuyn and film-maker Theo van Gogh are seen as linked to the exodus. More people left Holland in 2003 than arrived.

As I predicted earlier...Increasingly here in Phoenix,AZ I hear far more European languages being spoken in shops,restaurants,parks,etc. Which I would have no problem with (they tend to bring great restaurants with them) except for the fact that it indicates a mass abdication by Europeans of their vaunted and loved nations. Well, not loved *that* much I guess.

Interesting article, although it is essentially about health care. The writer seems to have met a Dutch babe in the French Alps who mentioned that things were not great at home immigration-wise.

I used to connect regularly at Amsterdam's airport and I rarely saw anyone there who was identifiably Dutch. I might as well have been in Casablanca. I long ago stopped going into Amsterdam itself; it's a zoo.

That's just dandy, they'll run rather than stay and contend for their ancient homeland. They'll just hand it over to the Muslims and the last little Dutch boy to leave can pull his finger out of the dike and let the netherlands be flooded.

Those with means will leave. The Netherlands had the most violent wakeup call, but France and Germany will not be far behind.

What a strange article.

The title and first three paragraphs dealt with the subject of Dutch migration out of Holland to Australia and why. Then suddenly the article became one about the relative benefits of Australian health insurance, never returning to the subject of the title over the remaining 2/3rd's of the story!

Was the journo who wrote it uncomfortable with the subject matter- you know, muslim assasination of Dutch public figures, muslim crime in Holland and the resulting white flight?

How poorly we are all being served by elite media. I'm so pleased to see it dying.

My daughter has a friend that moved to England and married a British man. They moved to America after several years of trying to put up with the changes in London. They have a story to tell and it is about what is happening to England.
They are totally disgusted. They are not the only ones giving up cities in England to the immigrants.
