Maverick Republican Sen. John McCain said Sunday that his New York colleague, Sen. Hillary Clinton, would do well if she becomes president of the United States.
"I am sure that Sen. Clinton would make a good president," McCain told NBC's "Meet the Press," as both he and Clinton were being interviewed from Baghdad.
While noting that as a Republican, he'll be supporting the GOP nominee in 2008, McCain reiterated, "I have no doubt that Sen. Clinton would make a good president."
Asked whether she thought McCain would make a good president, Sen. Clinton was somewhat less effusive, responding tersely, "Absolutely" - before erupting in her familiar cackle.

From CNN Headline News:
The 2 appeared on NBC news this morning, when asked if the other would make a good President, Clinton replied "absolutely", McCain said while he would support the Republican candidate, he had no doubt senator clinton would make a good president.
Open to interpretation, but he handled it fairly well considering her 'endorsement' of him was apparently without caveat as McCain applied.

I always found McCain too difficult for me to get around, something that I can't define has bothered me about him. Maybe his mind is too messed up in some areas. I don't know. This latest performance of his has made me ill.

McCain is the ultimate caricature of a sleazy politician. He's still here only because there was no one else on the ballot to vote for.

I imagine sombody is bound to come along and accuse me of being a "McCain-lover" or something. Then I'd have to trot out the fact that our activism in the recall campaign got Miss Slippy and me bounced from the party.

Interesting, to say the least.
And along with her recent move to
reform federal election laws I'd say Madame Hillary has fired the first shot across the RNC's bow.
Let's hope the good folks at G.O.P. headquarters don't panic and push for a moderate to oppose her.
I couldn't endure that woman's voice for four years.

I'm much more angry with Chrissy Wallace (Son of Mike) than I am at McPain. For me, that's saying a lot. I told Miss Slippy about this this morning, and her first response was, "What an unfair question to ask!" What the heck was McPain supposed to say with Crusty sitting right next to him? "Naw, I think she's a total incompetent??" Thanks for the full context.
Our good fried Carl seems to have left it out. Leaving the full context off kind of plays into Hillary's hand, doesn't it -- so-called maverick endorces the reluctant candidate.
Anyway, regardless of context, it's still hard to hear anybody say what McCain said.

PING! A red-letter day: Cyber has something not nasty to say about our senior Senator.

I guess we can take this as his official word that he won't be seeking the GOP nomination in 2008.

McPain's home is in the desert. You have to go up a dirt road that is maintained by about ten homes. Then his home is down a dirt road. I'm sorry, he calls it his "compound." NOT. Been there and seen it.

Your vigilance is not eternal. Oh, I'll fight both of them as hard as anybody.
But, McCain is detested by a large proportion of the Republican nominating electorate, and Her Heinousness is such a polarizing figure nationally that it is my belief that she will never win the Presidency, thank God.

It's too bad we can't select 15 Senators, fire them, have their bags packed and send them home. Imagine how much real progrss we could make without Kennedy, Leahy, Durbin, Schumer, Clinton, McCain, Hagel, Jeffords, Specter, Harkin, Boxer, Feinstein, Lautenberg, Biden and one draft choice to be named later.
To: EternalVigilance
Gee, sorry I missed it (on purpose). Can't stand either one of them!
