Please pray for my 17 year old daughter's safety, that the Lord is watching over her and protecting her from harm. I just filed a missing persons report with the Columbus Police Department about an hour ago, when it became apparent that I was not going to get the usual call from her letting me know where she was.
I left for work at 10:45 am and the last thing she said was that she was going to get her hair cut. No e-mail, no phone calls to me throughout the course of the day, which struck me as odd, because we hadn't had any harsh words and life seemed to be great. I got off work at 9 pm and she wasn't home, which isn't unusual because she spends alot of time with Young Life. Hours passed, no phone call. By 2 I was nearly hysterical with worry. I have left messages on her friends' cell phones hoping for a call back. I am sorry to say that I was not able to give the officer a description of what she was wearing, only a picture.
This is SO out of character for this young lady. She's always been the responsible one, even though she has been suffering from Senior-itis this year and has tested the boundaries to the limit. I am so frightened thinking of the possibilities here that I don't know where to turn, and I would appreciate your prayers tonight. I am hoping that perhaps she told me she'd be sleeping over tonight at a friend's house, but I have racked my brain, and frankly, I just don't remember any conversation like that taking place. (I haven't had a day off in 3 weeks.)

Hi, Sunshine's last post was at 9:40, maybe she has had some good news????
I am on my way out the door now to follow up on some tips I got from some of her fellow Young Life members. Apparently they started a phone chain of prayer as soon as I made a call to the Team Leader for their High School. There was a party last night, senior footbal player hosted it. Drinking involved, which shocks the hell out of me that she'd drink, but hey, I was 17 once. The kid that held the party seemed a bit surprised to hear from me this morning....he couldn't decide whether she had left the party or or not left the party. One of the girls she was with told me that she had said she wouldn't drive but wasn't going to let anyone else drive her car either, which leads me to one conclusion, that she's passed out at this kid's house. Man, is she in for a surprise...I'll be back soon. If this kid's parents are home I am calling the police to meet me there. 75% of the kids that were there were minors.

yes, I saw that update .. guess we were posting simultaneously. Wouldn't we all rather find out kids passed out at a party than some of the alternatives? Not to excuse it, but I know more adults who never drank after their first undisciplined binge! So, in the long run, it could be a good thing.
I am sitting here praying .. I just can't leave this thread now. I have been there with kids out, not answering their cell, it's 4am, they're on the road between NY and VA .. who do I call? Do I call? It's all so frightening. Too bad they can't be like we were, perfect in every way ;)

I just logged on and spotted your post. I am praying and will continue to do so throughout the day until you find her. I'll be monitoring this constantly.
For Pete's sakes let us know if she was at that house or not...I pray you find her there sleeping and you are clobbering her as I type.
I'm praying God returns her to you healthy.
