Please pray for my 17 year old daughter's safety, that the Lord is watching over her and protecting her from harm. I just filed a missing persons report with the Columbus Police Department about an hour ago, when it became apparent that I was not going to get the usual call from her letting me know where she was.
I left for work at 10:45 am and the last thing she said was that she was going to get her hair cut. No e-mail, no phone calls to me throughout the course of the day, which struck me as odd, because we hadn't had any harsh words and life seemed to be great. I got off work at 9 pm and she wasn't home, which isn't unusual because she spends alot of time with Young Life. Hours passed, no phone call. By 2 I was nearly hysterical with worry. I have left messages on her friends' cell phones hoping for a call back. I am sorry to say that I was not able to give the officer a description of what she was wearing, only a picture.
This is SO out of character for this young lady. She's always been the responsible one, even though she has been suffering from Senior-itis this year and has tested the boundaries to the limit. I am so frightened thinking of the possibilities here that I don't know where to turn, and I would appreciate your prayers tonight. I am hoping that perhaps she told me she'd be sleeping over tonight at a friend's house, but I have racked my brain, and frankly, I just don't remember any conversation like that taking place. (I haven't had a day off in 3 weeks.)

I too have had this experience. Although he was much older.

Stay strong and keep you eyes on the Lord.
He knows where she is and it's good to remember that.

Sadly, I did this to my parents all the time. Now when my two teens are out, I can't sleep a wink until they return home. I can only imagine what you're experiencing right now and ask God to have your child check in immediately. Please Lord.

Thank you all for your prayers and concern. I fell asleep in the chair not long after I returned from the Police Station. Nobody at the desk seemed to be able to explain what "conversion of trust" meant once I got down there. Not only that, but the officer said "you don't want to report the car as stolen if your daughter has it unless you intend to file charges against her." I said my intent is to call attention to the vehicle in the event that she is no longer in possession of it, to which he replied "Ma'am, that's just speculation at this point". So I said where do we go from here? And his reply to me was "Go home, and wait for your daughter to come home. This stuff happens all the time." I AM LIVID. dandelion, I can't think you enough for finding Thomas Hurley's phone number. I am going to call him now and I have e-mailed Erin Martell as well, although I am not expecting an answer anytime soon since it's an edu e-mail addy.
Heavenly Father, we pray for the safe return of this precious girl, and ask you to watch over her wherever she is. Please also give her mother and others peace and trust in You as they wait, and wisdom and discernment to know how to find her. We trust that even now she is on the way home, or even already home safe and sound. We pray this in Jesus' Name, Amen.
