KABOOM - If you live in California's Inland Empire. What the heck was that?

Okay.. People in the Ontario/Upland area What the heck was that? An earthquake? Lightning? If it was lightning it was the loudest I have ever heard. It shook the whole house, and set off every car alarm on the street.

Hmmm...

Could be a sonic boom from fighters off the coast. Here in Oregon, 50 miles inland, we had a huge sonic boom that happened several years ago because all of the conditions were just right.

I'm in OC and if the storm is moving towards you from OC then it was probably thunder. We had some seriously loud booms here a few hours ago that woke me from a deep sleep around 6:30am. My puppy was going balistic over it since it is the first storm she has seen.

I've always loved that term "Inland Empire". Boy, talk about delusional thinking . . . . .

When I was a kid, sonic booms were quite common. Know you have to go out into the Frank Church wilderness area to hear them. :(

It says there is a massive Pacific storm over LA.

See FOX right now. Well, they'll be back to the story.

We're in Sierra Madre (east of Pasadena) and have been having HUGE thunder and lightning since last night. This morning it has been truly awesome, and close to the foothills. We are only a bit west of you, for a storm.

I heard my first sonic boom in many, many years here the other day in eastern Washington. Granddaughter had no idea what it was.

Yep, back when I was in school, F-104s made a habit of it a couple times a week.
