I would <>almost agree with you. It certainly sounds like a neat and a simple solution to the problem. No more governmental "blessing" of any unions, period.

But, we do consider things sacred and we will continue to bless certain behaviors based upon our perception that they benefit society as a whole. Are you ready to turn our whole values system into a secular free for all?
Life is held sacred. An individual taking a life is murder and is wrong.
We take your solution and apply it across the board and we will have a secular society. What will remain sacred?
Every man's perception of right and wrong, every pervert's perception too. That's the new definition of sacred. My opinion. This is the liberal's premise and outcome right there. I don't want to go there.

Thanks SO MUCH for posting this! I too have been hoping that Stephen Harper started speaking up more -- especially as the Martin "government" is so tentative (they didn't even win the majority of the vote in the last Federal election)....kudos also for a full posting....
