Jim Robinson is a class act, and he proves it once again. Sean Hannity is a class act. He is generous in the extreme, he commits an enormous amount of time and money to support our armed forces (where too many others just give lip service), he was crucial in his support of the president's re-election, and he is selfless in other pursuits completely unknown to most people -- including supporting his fellow conservative talk show hosts in their efforts to battle the mainstream media. I am amazed at the attacks on his intelligence, which have festered here for months and months and represent the kind of cheap character assassination practiced by the Left. I know Sean well, and he is incredibly sharp and intelligent. And he has a unique ability to connect with the vast majority of his audience. There are certain individuals on this website -- some of whom are no doubt liberals pretending to be conservatives, and some of whom are no doubt simply nasty -- who seem to get a perverse satisfaction in attacking conservatives who are on the frontline of our battle -- not just Sean, but Rush and others. Frankly, I don't blame Sean for leaving. Nobody wants to be abused like this. Especially someone who has been for FreeRepublic early on. There's a lesson in all of this -- keep the focus on our adversaries, and let's stop chewing up our own. And I speak as a proud Freeper of long-standing.
That's it in a nutshell.
Thanks for taking the time to comment here.
Thank you.
Freepers are all of those things you claim Sean is. Sure we may not make as much money as Sean does doing it- but there are numerous good things which have happened because of FR and since you have been around here for so long you know that.
He basically ran his opus for the nation to hear... except most of them don't know about the biker bar, and the anti freepers... and what this is all about.
Why in the world did he think anyone could even follow it?
He sure didn't try to give us good publicity, now did he?
He was at the front of defending the Swiftee's, a decision I do not take lightly. He won my loyalty with his defense of those men.
I didn't agree with everything Sean stated yesterday. Nor have I liked the undeserved free for all of criticism that has been unleashed on Sean for months. I can hardly hold him in contempt for difficulty in turning the other cheek given what has been leveled at him.
In the end the focus needs to be trained on our stated objectives, which shouldn't include taking down an important figure in the conservative movement. The opposition doesn't need that type of aid relief from us.
Thanks for your contribution to the discussion.
I was listening to a radio talk show the other day and the host said that the MSM LOVES to be able to interview a Republican that will contradict or disagree with another Republican. They said that that is media "gold"---
Why don't they say that about dems? Because they walk in ignorant or stubborn lock-step---
I personally like to hear when there are more than one solution to a problem, with a healthy dose of debate. I think that it is one of the reasons that I like Free Republic--we all have the same goals (mostly), but we have different paths that we want to take---
More often than not the debates are very humorous as well as enlightening---
I for one, think this should be the last day of FR v Hannity and we should find some poor liberal shmuck to slam!!!
Not all of us are so in love with ourselves we slam people gratuitously, famous or not. Sean IS a great American!

Thanks so much for speaking up. I, too, have been dismayed by the attacks on Sean and other front-line conservatives here. I like Sean a lot and really enjoy his style. People here talk about him emulating Rush, but lately I've noticed that Rush has been having more interviews on his show than he ever had before, probably as a result of seeing how effective it is on Sean's show. I'm glad these guys can learn from each other. And glad they both had you on this week, BTW.
AMEN Mark!
For crying out loud, he said he left two years ago. How would he know if he were being abused or not if he hasn't dirtied his eyes reading FR since then?
But the real question is why, after a two year self-imposed absence, he suddenly lashed out at Freepers? Just promoting his own new website in the least classiest way? Lucianne, move over, Hannity has less class than you.
All it takes is 5 or 6 people getting a few accounts each to start all this crap going. The left enjoys watching all the sniping... it's what they live for. I agree with you completely on Sean. Unfortunately, the trolls have been somewhat successful in this instance.
Amen to that. There are millions out there who hate us, and that should be the focus.
God Bless men such as Ronald Reagan, Rush, Sean, Jim Robinson and yourself for showing so many the value of conservativism!
Thank you very much. I agree with every word.
Jim

What you said!
BTTT !!!
Yep.
>"There's a lesson in all of this -- keep the focus on our adversaries, and let's stop chewing up our own."<
Thanks for that friendly reminder:
Too much name calling and slander.
Lets' all try to raise the level of civilty and try to be polite to each other, even if we disagree on an issue.
Regards
Exactly right.
That said, Shawn needs to realize that there are many thousands of people here, most who don't practice cheap character assassination.
bump! Best post I have read here in two days. Keep up the good work.
