Keep up the good work Sean!
If you're taking flak, you're over the target!
Bombs away!
Well said. Thankfully Michael Medved is on opposite Hannity in the Dallas market, so I have an option.
The South has indeed risen already. Just look at the electoral map!
Deo Vindice!!!
Very well said
If somebody tells you how this happens, can you ping me; I've been hearing that claim about myself for years......LOL.
Hey Howlin! I really like this photo of your last trip to Tokyo. :O)
So that's where TLBSHOW went. What an (expletive deleted fot the purposes of inter-netular amity).

I came on one of those threads and tore into the Hannity-bashers, accusing them of eating their own and probably much worse. I can't find the thread so I think Jim probably pulled it. The point is, I've always liked Sean and have defended him relentlessly on this website.
What I don't understand is why he doesn't understand howit only takes a few liberal "plants" to start a "Sean/Rush is a Moron" thread and to keep it going by pulling all the crazies out of the woodwork. This is a huge place. Do Sean, Rush, and all the other public figures who occasionally get bashed want Jim to immediately ban anyone who says something negative about them? That sounds like an unrealistic expectation to me, but then again, I'm not famous nor do I run a website, so what do I know. :-)
It disappointed me and many other Freepers when Sean lumped us in the "fringe" category, that's all. And today, instead of admitting that we're not all kooks, he essentially wants 150,000+ people to apologize for the few liberal plants and wingnuts. C'mon, Sean, be fair! I mean, my gosh, most of us here listen to you on TV or radio on a regular basis. The ones who say mean things about you are in the huge minority. Go look at that poll if you don't believe me.
< /rant > I'm just very disappointed, Mark, that's all. I stuck my neck out several times to take up for him, as have many other 'fringers' here. I know you can't sit here and answer every reply to you. I just needed to vent my frustration. I'm surrounded by liberal academicians all day and my 2 lifelines are Sean and Rush.
I feel much better now. I would feel even better and may even listen to Sean again if he would apologize for lumping me in with the fringers. Oh, and did I mention that I'm not a WingNut? ;-)
I would rather be his friend, too, but what he said was dead wrong.
Most excellent.
Thanks for your perspective. History is always so interesting. In the end, a business has to contend with "spin-offs". But the wars of political posturing add their own spice to the sauce. Thanks again for your post.
I agree that he is a great American and does further the conservative cause but his show sucks. He has said that he learns from constructive criticism but I haven't seen any sign of it. I don't listen often but when I do it's still the same old stuff.
He needs to quit talking about himself and the endless promos about his show(H&C) and all his 'good friends' I may listen more.
He is so boring I can only listen for a few minutes. It's Medved for me.
Sean, wake up and quit the constant promos.
I find it an act of hubris that a public figure gets offended and takes all his marbles home when some criticize his act on this and that. His comments that I heard today and read the day before were disporportionate, inaccurate, and self centered. Most of us get sharp elbows from time to time. That is what the public square and life are about. In an word, and it is just my opinion, Hannity is acting in a rather immature way. It does not reflect credit upon him.
There, Sean. Do you feel bad yet? ;-)I'm not going to read this thread because it'll just raise my blood pressure to see all the back-stabbing, pretentious Armchair-Disc-Jockeys criticizing a fellow conservative FReeper. But I do want to take this opportunity to say something that has been bugging me for a long time now.
If you're reading this and recognize yourself as one of the obnoxious "Wanna-be DJs," just know that my eyes are rolling back uncontrollably into my eye sockets right now as I sit here at my keyboard talking to you. If you're one of the many DU trolls who love to bash Sean & other conservative radio hosts, especially since your own Al-Frankenstein bombed, I'm laughing at you. And finally, if you're a FReeper who normally displays an appropriate sense of decorum and class but forget your manners on occasion, I'm hoping you will listen.
Sean is one of our own (Mar 19, 1999) and he's a fellow conservative. Does that mean anything to you? And just because his voice comes across your radio speakers every day and you see him on your television every night, do you forget about the little fact that the man has human feelings? How do you think it makes a person feel when they sit here and read vicious comments about himself that some of you make? Do you even care? Remember Linda Tripp at FR? "Public people" have feelings too, remember? Sean is just like any other FReeper who wants John F'ing Kerry to be defeated in October and is trying his hardest to achieve that goal. And like you and me, he should be able to come here in 'lurker mode' (or even use a pseudo-name) and be politically rejuvenated every night without reading comments about "how slow that Sean Hannity is" or reading about all the mistakes you think he made that day and how you would have done it better.
If you think you could do it better, go start your own radio show and write your own book! It's easy to sit here at your keyboard or drive in your car and think of how you would do it better, but I'd wager a bet that if you were in a radio talk show position, it wouldn't be quite as easy as it looks. As for myself, I listen to Sean every chance I get and I think he's great. He comes across as genuine and honest, two of the most endearing personality characteristics a person can possess. Sean is just himself and doesn't try to be something he's not. That's refreshing.
So what if he doesn't say what you want him to say in the manner you want it said? And so what if he's not "mean enough" and not confrontational enough for your tastes? Has it every occurred to you that not everyone enjoys the attack-dog approach 24/7? If you're one of the whiney complainers and prefer a tougher approach, turn your dial to Laura Ingraham (sp?). (But just remember she's a fellow FReeper, too). If that's not enough and you enjoy seeing liberals getting skinned alive and quartered, start a petition and convince Ann Coulter to start her own show.
Personally, I have certain things I like about all of them -- Sean, Rush, Tony, Laura, etc. Likewise, there are things I don't like about each one of them, but I'll be danged if I'm going to sit here and belittle or malign any of them in front of the liberals. (In spite of what you may have heard, liberals can read.) Constructive criticism is one thing; downright malicious back-stabbing is quite another. He's a FReeper, people. He probably lurks all the time like the rest of them do. Why don't you treat him with some respect like you do your other fellow FReepers? If one of your favorite FR buddies starts his/her own show one day and gets famous, are you going to publicly denigrate him like you do Laura and Sean? What's the difference?
I'm sure some of the nasty, disrespectful comments about him are coming from the disgusting DU people, but some of you who should know better are rude beyond belief! You sound like a bunch of bitter wimmin' who have nothing better to do than sit around and talk about each other behind each other's back.
BTW, for all you Kalifornian's who are still pouting because Sean didn't support Tom McClintock -- get over it. The man was not electable.< /rant >
Just tug on your earlobe at the end of tomorrow's show like Carol Burnett used to do and we'll all forgive you. Then we can all start targeting Hillary! and be done with this nonsense. LOL!
I heard you last night discussing Sean, and you were right on!
I was upset with what Sean said yesterday, and fired off an email to James. I wasn't mean, I was just amazed and shocked. You came on last night, and spoke of Sean and made me realize, we are all fighting the same fight, and while Sean had problems with certain people here, it did not concern me. As much as I love FR, it is not my fight!
You, Sean, Rush, And Laura are wonderful, and I think some people forget how far removed we would be without you guys! Thanks again for stepping up to the plate, and I hope to meet you on the 26th!
Bingo! And, thanks for putting this forward.
I can easily imagine the same dialog in 1775. Freepers are the Minutemen of the new millenium.
LOL
Loved your past post you dug up, and the thought of Sean tugging his earlobe as a sign to FReepers is hysterical!
I agree.
I was highly offended. If you don't like a site - just don't go there as he apparently doesn't. But - you don't go nationwide and make a judgement on the whole site (from two-three years ago) and use your show to tear down the work done by Jim Robinson for years. How very classy of Mr. Hannity. Guess he does not expect us to know a cheap shot when we see it either.
Apparently, Sean does not know that Jim has designated this site will not allow the continual Bush bashing as done in the past. Apparently he does not know that Jim has stated that our goal is to fight the democrats - not other conservatives. Apparently he does not know how much criticism Mr. Robinson has taken over this decision.
But - Sean felt free to tell all his listeners that this is a kook site - we eat our own. Why would he do that on the air? Could it be to try and lure people to his site so that he could more easily "sell" his wares?
Could it be Sean is so involved in self promotion and ego basking that he fails to realize his shows suffer. We see this and complain about it. Why is it so hard for him to realize that people understand self-promotion, ego basking, fluff, filler? Why would he think people want to tune in to sit through that stuff? We are looking for substance, something of interest, information - we are not looking for an idol to worship - sorry.
We are never looking for book selling, we are never looking for ego stroking of a host, we are never looking for catering to those who seek to destroy this country. Why is it so hard to understand that we expect something worth listening to and we get sick to death of the repetition, the selling, the constant filler of promoting the next segments?
FreeRepublic has had to fight the "kook" designation for years and many do not visit the site because of the "kook" designation. Thanks a lot Sean.
I do not visit "kook" sites.
I am still mad at Sean and it will be a while before I do not feel that he decided to wield his power AGAINST a very effective conservative website and we will have to mount more years of building up our reputation again.
A thoroughly cheap shot that will be costly to the reputation of this site.
