Durango - Herb Young turned the telephone off again Tuesday after it rang at 12:40 a.m.
One recent caller had told him that "you should be found dead in a ditch."
Nine out of 10 calls to his house are from "crackpots," he said, ever since a plate of cookies and a case in La Plata County Small Claims Court turned life upside down.

These girls are lucky they were not shot for their charitable prank. You sound disappointed. Yes, it's too bad a couple of young ladies weren't mowed down in a barrage of bullets as they tried to leave a plate of cookies. I'll bet you wish you were the one pulling the trigger. You'd feel so much better, wouldn't you?

You're correct of some folks perception of rural living. Around these parts, it is considered rude to make phone calls after 9:00 pm, much less visit a home unexpected expected unless there is an emergency.
Those who are TPing homes must live in the city or one of those subdivisions in the "country". I'd like to seem them face the yard dogs when trying it on a rural home. In fact, I am surprised the woman did not have any outside dogs to sic on the shadow.

If you're suing kids over late-night cookie deliveries, I'm guessing there wasn't much laughter in the first place.

Reading the posts here, I'm beginning to think dts32041 may be Sarah Brady. It's one of the best cases for gun control that I've run across.

I don't advocate violence against the harridan, of course, but really, suing two girls for doing a good deed? How did she think people were going to react?
To: cyborg
In the article the SHERIFF told the women to LEAVE their house for the night!!!! Geesh....put yourself in their shoes for just ONE second.

Food Bank? Maybe she thought the two girl were going to be competition, so she sue them to get them out of the food giving business - just a thought. sarcasm off

You would let your daughter go out at 10:30 at night to deliver cookies ANONYMOUSLY??? You can NOT be serious.....and you would EAT COOKIES that you didn't know who left on your doorstep??? I really doubt it.

These girls are lucky they were not shot for their charitable prank. If they were shot it would be by some idiot who failed to identify his target, and therefore is a criminal who belongs behind bars.
To: Ann Archy
I wouldn't be in her shoes because I'm not a nut like she is. Sorry.

I wouldn't eat cookies, but please. A knock at the door at 10:30 induces mental illness? LOL
