It motivated the base that might have wanted Bush to win that wouldn't have shown up believing he had the state cold. Overconfidence has been the fault of lost races before.
I don't like what he said, but I'm not going to strip credit away for valuable contributions in 2004.
I think Sean is afraid that the pajama people are going to Gannonize him. Something's up with Hannity and he's scared of something. Time will tell, I guess.
I liked Hannity's road shows. They were momentum builders to get out the vote and they help President Bush to victory.
Actually, Sean has never been and will never be in the same class as Rush or Tony Snow. I heard Mark Levin on Rush today - talking about his book and it is amazing how much more he could say than he did on Sean's show the other day. Sean never shuts up, and the same phrases keep coming out of his mouth over and over again. Many days I have to shut him off; other days he is okay. I was really insulted by his comments today. My intuition tells me that his was the voice of someone who's feelings had been hurt by something he read at this site. If there was some way I could prove it, I would make a bet on it. So instead of remaining, he took his little red wagon and went home.
FreeRepublic is the idealized (read "extreme") America that would exist if socialists, anarchists, communists, liberals, atheists, agnostics feminists, IRA supporters, union members, left-wing university professors, Al Queada Supporters, etc were banished!

I'm not being thin skinned, he was crass by dissing us to promote his site. If he really wanted to promote conservative viewpoints, should be glad there are different sites out there. The more there are, the more chance for change we have. He should get over here and explain himself. But, he won't. He wants us to buy a membership to his site. What he did wasn't conservative, it was a play right out of the liberal handbook.
The only one I can think of is the google toolbar thing... It has a little bar that shows the "importance" of a website based on searches or something. I know lots of people on FR use it. then again you have to download their software...no free lunch.
The only rankings I've seen are top 100 or so, and FR isn't high enough to make that list (but neither is hannity I'm sure)
Most of the top 100 were company websites if I remember right...online shoppers I guess.

That is so true. The left can't touch Rush, as much as they try. Sean is dumb to alienate Freepers. People on the left already told him he's next. One would think the man would have enough sense not to cause hard feelings with harsh talk to many of his own supporters. I guess he isn't as smart as he thinks.

I'm on the ZOT ping lists and fail to see any "hair trigger moderators". Must have been before my time (lurker/FReeper for 8 years) If anything, I think they let some of the useful idiots stay around too long.

Look at the scope of this thread. Hyper-sensitive to what Sean says, but Sean is supposed to take it when they go overboard in trashing him.
I've said I thought Sean was off base in making the criticism so general, and very lame to promote his board on the back of criticism of this one. No excuse for that.
But too many are proving they are as thin skinned as they say he is. And they are doing what Sean did, eating our "own".
