I read that to mean the cliches of the left - they are promoting that homos are loving couples that are monogamous and fit to marry each other and adopt children.

Could be. I sometimes take it for granted that most reporters are leftist, so I don't think about it being written from their point of view.

Those cliches are accurate as proven by the statistics in the article.

Agreed.

I disagree with the author's conclusions. In theory, eveyone is at risk since one doesn't truly know whether or not their partner is monogamous. This is simply a risky assumption, particularly for women.

Not to mention, AIDS could conceivably become so resistant and aggressive , it starts to transmit in other ways. Last time I knew, employment cannot be denied due to sexual preference. We have a lot of gays working in fields they shouldn't be working in.

We are doing NO ONE any favors but being so PC about this deviant behavior.

he had unprotected sex with hundreds of men...But as extensive sociological research has shown, the New York City case is more typical of the promiscuous lifestyle of homosexuals.

Don't you sometimes wonder whether alleycats are more discriminating in their choices of sexual partners?

And what then? Sure, many people who come up positive will end their destructive habits. But what about the people who don't? What about those who just don't care, or actively seek to spread it? What will we do then, quarantine?

Hopefully, if one is knowingly positive and has unprotected sex, that person can be charged with crimes, akin to using a deadly weapon.

These numbers illustrate best why the life expectancy of homosexuals is at least 30 years shorter than that of the average heterosexual.

This assertion needs a source. He is obviously referring to male homosexuals, not lesbians. Their lives may be shortened by obesity, but not by HIV.

Long story, that! On these threads are Doctors reports, about what Lesbians are suseptable to. A multitude of things. While not necessarily AIDS, a whole host of cancers.

Has there been any published breakdown as to how much treatment for AIDS boosts an health insurance policy's cost.

Heterosexual contact accounted for less than 15 percent, but the rate among monogamous couples and abstinent singles was 0 percent.

Bump worth repeating.

Recreational sex has its risks, the more abnormal, the more the risk.

Probably 99% of the "Heterosexual" cases of HIV are just one-degree of separation from Homosexual or needle-using partners.

"What I find amazing is that the "experts" are shocked that the man contracted AIDs in just three months."

I am sure that they were shocked by the rapidity with which the virus showed symptoms. WIth behavior like that HIV was a certainty.

Absolute insanity and we are paying for it.

So true.

IMHO, testing, perhaps no more extensive than formerly done for syphilis (I believe this was done not just for marriage licenses but upon any/all hospital admissions), along with three (3) tattoos on carriers (one on the genitals, one on the butt, and one in the arm pit(for your local blood bank)) would very nearly wipe out this curse.

" 200 instances of unprotected sex / 90 days = 2.2 times per day minimum. That's a whale of a lot of nookie. If this fellow is anywhere near representative, we've got ourselves AIDS II, the Sequel. "

This is what I think should be the MAIN STORY here. Not the disease itself but the fact that this guy and those like him should be QUARANTINED! He is guilty of assult with a deadly weapon. PERIOD. Also the fact that this devil is sucking up taxpayer $ for his treatment which should have been PREVENTABLE. These type of people should not receive one dollar of taxpayer money until they are locked away for good. If someone with TB was infecting as many as this fool probably has, the TB guy WOULD be in quarantine.

Some interesting insights from our sister site in Canada:

New resistant strain of HIV diagnosed in New Yorker [ 1, 2 ] -- I was going to highlight and quote the exact portion that you did, until I saw your post. Hundreds of partners in weeks, and we are paying for this behavior, but we decry paying for smokers health costs when they pay the highest taxes with each package of cigarettes purchased. If gay men want to be so promiscuous they should pay a tax for each sex partner to cover their inevitable health care costs. We have antibiotic resistant strains thanks to overuse amongst homosexual men for all of the STD acquired because of behavior, and now a possible antiviral strain of HIV.

Why not just spread a lot of fairy porn out there where the deviants hang and, instead of trying to stop fairy sexual activity, try to encourage it.

You're RUTHLESS. Heh heh heh. Me too.

Somehow, I doubt that nookie was involved at all.

LOL No kidding. My idea of nookie involves women.

Yes, this is Waterbury, Ct. I have been reading it on line for a few years and they are conservative in their editorials and usually conservative in what they choose to print from the A.P.

Thanks for the link. Methinks the homo lobby and all the political correctness BS has let the genie out of the bottle on this one.

They're throwing all the government funding at taxpayers expense at treating the disease without factoring in the most important element relevant to the disease and how its acquired, the BEHAVIOR of its victims. In this day and age ANYONE that gets HIV/AIDS from a direct result of their own behavior, deserves nothing but contempt. IMO.

Homosexual is appropriate for either gender.

Homo from Latin means: A member of the genus Homo, which includes the extinct and extant species of humans.

Homo from Greek means: Same

In general usage it usually refers to males though.

Lesbians contract HIV at about the same rate as the general population, or so I have read.

It's not like Ebola. This ONE guy had the energy and time to expose several hundred in 3 months. Not the scenario for an infection that rapidly burns itself out.
