Apprehended after the blaze, Rothenberg pleaded guilty to attempted murder and arson with great bodily injury, and received the maximum sentence: 13 years in prison. Disgraceful.

I'm surprised they're going for the max in liberal San Francisco! Still, the equivalent of three human lifetimes for this guy isn't good enough. He should be locked away forever.

So this guy set his son on fire 22 years ago. He set his son on fire. Pardon me for asking, but why has he been free to get "strikes" two and three?

Charles Rothenberg, who has legally changed his name to Charley Charles. Didn't want to be confused with the Rosenbergs.

The man infamous for setting his son on fire in a Buena Park motel room 22 years ago
I remember this. His son was 6 years old. He poured kerosene over the boy and set him aflame. The boy was burned over 90% of his body. As I recall, after his conviction, the father went to court in an attempt to force his son to visit him in prison.
The SOB should have been put to death.

What the heck was he doing out of prison in the first place?
To: Taylor814
He can get life for having a gun and ammo, to defend himself from vigilanties... which I have no doubt this guy truly does have a legitimate and real reason to fear... but he burns his own son and he only got 13... what's up with that?
