Actually, she is going to become HRH the Duchess of Cornwall (in deference to Princess Diana, they ie; the palace, are not naming her Princess of Wales) when or if, Charles ever ascends to the throne, she will become the Princess Consort (Like Prince Albert was to Queen Victoria)

And now the Prince of Wales is one step closer to acheiving his master plan: being reincarnated as Camillia's tampon!

I don't even know why I care as much as I do about Charles and Camilla's love for one another. The woman has rubbed me the wrong way for a long time. I think about how she continued to be a strong presence in Charles's life after he married Diana....and I think about how Diana must have felt. Never said Diana was a saint, but she certainly didn't deserve the crap she got. If an ex girlfriend of my husbands interfered in his marriage to me, well, let's just say I'd be pretty upset.

"Never said Diana was a saint, but she certainly didn't deserve the crap she got."

Diana had her own affairs, remember James Hewitt? Amongst others, one of whom was a married man, whom she stalked by calling him hundreds of times a day until he brought it out in the public causing her to finally stop. Charles didn't go back to Camilla until he knew just how mentally unstable Diana was. She was what's called a "delicate cutter" in shrink terminology. She would make cuts with a knife or razor up and down her arms. My best friend used to work on a mental ward at the University of Chicago, and told me all about the delicate cutters she would deal with in the course of her duties as an art therapist. They are sort of borderline schizophrenic in some cases. Schizoid. Diana threw herself down a staircase in a pique against Charles, while pregnant, and landed at the bottom at his feet, much to his horror. Diana connived and made alliances and in some senses tried to bring down the House of Windsor in her petulant attempts to get back at Charles. Destroying the whole royal family was fine with her as long as she could shaft Charles. Charles went back to Camilla because he realized Diana was a total nutcake. I haven't even brought up her bulimia, her colonics (enemas to cleanse her colon). Just what you want to be married to, a woman who spends half her life with her head in a toilet bowl. Diana had a lonely childhood and was basically ignored, and her mother left her father to marry another man. It's sad, but Diana was screwed up long before she met Charles because of her childhood experiences. Plus Diana's mother was a real oddball in her own right. Diana probably suffered from genetic peculiarities right from the onset.

Meanwhile, Camilla and Charles share many interests. She is an accomplished horsewoman, is intelligent, likes to have fun, is a good hostess for him to be with at parties, and the queen actually likes her I'm sure better than she ever did Diana. Camilla has both feet on the ground. Diana was up in the air hanging on for dear life to a balloon. Diana and Charles had nothing in common.

Remember also, that Charles was basically being forced by family pressure and royal obligations to find a young fertile woman to wed to produce heirs for the throne. He couldn't marry Camilla as she was first married to another man, and then when they split, was a divorced woman. I believe Charles actually cared for Diana for the first 3-4 years, until all her strange behaviors manifested themselves more and more. I'm happy for Charles and Camilla. She isn't a beauty like Diana, but she's not nuts either, she is a good companion for him and she seems motherly and probably brings him great comfort. So there, that's my two cents worth.

Wow....talk about making judgements about a person. Diana did this, Diana did that....were you there?

Charles NEVER left Camilla. Don't you remember the cuff links she gave him as a wedding present? They had the initials of Camilla and Charles on them. Diana didn't want to go through with the marriage after she found these cuff links but was told it was too late to back out. How would you feel on your wedding day if this had happened to you?

I also recall there first son getting injured and was put into the hosptial. Didn't they do surgery on him and didn't Charles not sit by his son's side while Diana did. How do you suppose that made her feel? While she was there, Charles went to a ballet and the English public was not happy with him at all.

I also recall Charles being very unhappy about the birth of there second son. He wanted a girl and made Diana know that he was disappointed.

Diana was no saint....but neither was Charles. Diana was practically a kid when she married him and was immature but she did want to please him. After a while, she gave up and the marriage went sour. As for Charles and Camilla....they deserve eachother. Camilla's presence in the marriage between Diana and Charles was there from the beginning and she always had her nose in there business because Charles wanted it that way. It takes two to tango and it ticks me off that so many blame everything on Diana....especially when she is no longer here to defend herself!

"Wow....talk about making judgements about a person. Diana did this, Diana did that....were you there?"

Were you there to make judgments on Charles? No, you weren't.

"Charles NEVER left Camilla. Don't you remember the cuff links she gave him as a wedding present? They had the initials of Camilla and Charles on them. Diana didn't want to go through with the marriage after she found these cuff links but was told it was too late to back out. How would you feel on your wedding day if this had happened to you?"

No one "told" here it was too late to back out. She decided herself it was too late to back out, as per her own words.

"I also recall there first son getting injured and was put into the hosptial. Didn't they do surgery on him and didn't Charles not sit by his son's side while Diana did. How do you suppose that made her feel? While she was there, Charles went to a ballet and the English public was not happy with him at all."

Charles' sons adore him, according to all of the Brits who keep track of royalty for a living. The sons are protective of him, and love their father very much. The British public knows this. Guess the occasional faux pax does not hold up against a lifetime of taking care of his sons. Charles was wonderful with them at the time right after Diana died, and has continued to be there for them to this day.

"I also recall Charles being very unhappy about the birth of there second son. He wanted a girl and made Diana know that he was disappointed."

Geez, what a stretch in your attempt to portray Charles as the bigger rat of the two of them. Charles isn't nuts, Diana was.

"Diana was no saint....but neither was Charles. Diana was practically a kid when she married him and was immature but she did want to please him. After a while, she gave up and the marriage went sour."

Diana was pleasing Charles, and Charles was pleasing the whole monarchy who wanted him to marry a "proper" virgin girl, and produce heirs to the throne. They were insistent that he do so, and like a dutiful future king, he did so. He was very fond of Diana those first few years, and wasn't fooling around with Camilla until after the birth of their 2 kids, and after figuring out that Diana really had some screws loose in the old noggin.

"As for Charles and Camilla....they deserve eachother. Camilla's presence in the marriage between Diana and Charles was there from the beginning and she always had her nose in there business because Charles wanted it that way. It takes two to tango and it ticks me off that so many blame everything on Diana....especially when she is no longer here to defend herself!"

Diana, via phone conversations, a ghostwritten book, interviews, etc. did everything she could to get back at Charles and the monarchy. One spiteful woman trying to bring down a royal household. Later she started dating Dodi Fayed (or however his last name is spelled), in order to wipe a muslim man in the face of the royals, and whose father (old man Fayed) had a personal grudge against the monarchy. Another nice move on her part. And you know what, in spite of all the water under the bridge, I think Diana would have gone back to Charles in a heartbeat if he would have allowed it. But at the same time she would have continued to make his life a living hell, and he knew it. Wisely he got divorced from her. Camilla probably was Charles' harbor that he sailed into when things were going very sour between him and Diana. She was an old flame, comfortable, much more in tune with his lifestyle, and I'm sure he cares for her a lot, he's known her for 30 years. Charles never was much of a playboy, and he's been very loyal to Camilla, and she to him, for a long long time. I wish them well. The best thing that happened for Charles was, frankly, Diana's departure from this earth. If she was still alive, she would still be tormenting him as much as she could, as she was more than a bit off, and couldn't let go. You might want to read up on Diana's psychiatric problems. You could probably google and find some info that way, but there are also books that speak to her mental status.

"Were you there to make judgements on Charles? No, you weren't."

Wouldn't that apply to your judgements about Diana as well?

Diana never said that it was too late to back out of the wedding to Charles....her friends and sisters told her that on her wedding day. The woman had a right to feel uneasy about her marriage to Charles....especially when you consider that she found the gift that Camilla had given to Charles. Cuff links with there initials on them. I can't imagine how hurt Diana must have felt on that day. Nothing cramps a marriage like an ex girlfriend.

Charles was wonderful with his sons after Diana's death....it still doesn't change the fact that he WAS NOT there when his son had his head injury. It doesn't change the fact that he was disappointed when Diana gave him another son.

Charles isn't nuts? I disagree. The man is strange and he has said publicly that his childhood was not good. I think the lack of love and attention from his parents made Charles into the man he is today. Sort of cold and lacking the ability to understand....something Diana had to learn the hard way.

She dated Dodi Fayed just to bug the royal family? You have personal knowledge of this? Did you talk to Diana yourself? No, you did not.

"The best thing that happene for Charles was, frankly, Diana's departure from this earth."

Charles this, Charles that,....Diana's departure from this earth was not good for her two sons. Kind of cold of you to even say such a thing anyway.

As an American, this doesn't affect me directly but I've followed the Royals as a hobby for years. I truly think that HRH Prince Charles SHOULD marry Camilla and then upon the death of HRM Queen Elizabeth abdicate the throne for someone more suitable. If you ask me He has brought the House of Windsor to it's lowest point in history, and the reason he is considered for asscession at all is that his great-uncle abdicated to marry whom he wished. Indeed, even Margaret had to choose between love and the Civil List. For the Commonwealth to remain, I feel it,s the smart move.

We just don't see eye to eye on this. You side with the dead Diana, I side with the alive Charles. Siding with Diana doesn't accomplish anything at this point, as she is six feet under. But feel free. I wish Charles and Camilla a long and healthy life. Cast your aspersions on him if it makes you feel better, I cast my lot with Charles. I think we've just about worn this topic out for now. I assume you will agree.
