To stop Hillary, draft Condi - Dick Morris

As a social conservative and deeply religious person, she would face no bar in winning the votes of the Christian right, so crucial to winning the Republican nomination. Unlike former New York Mayor Rudy Guiliani (R) and Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) — both of whom could probably win in November — she would be very attractive to the pro-life, anti-gun-control, anti-affirmative-action base of the GOP.

America longs to put the period on the disgraceful chapter in our nation’s history that began when the first slave arrived at Jamestown, Va., more than 400 years ago. We also want to send a message to every girl, and every African-American or Hispanic baby, that there is no ceiling and that you can rise as far as your ability will carry you.

Why does anyone pay attention to Morris? He's dramatic, shallow, and almost always wrong.

ie: Vision is voting for Hillary in 2008.

Fibroids are non cancerous growths that appear on a woman's uterus and/or ovaries. Small ones are easy to remove. My mom had them.

Since when is she pro-life? Am I missing something?

KidGolck, show us all the evidence you have that Condi is pro-choice? Until you do I'll stick with the truth.

Do you have your Hillary button yet?

I like Condi - for Senator from California!

So you like Hillary in 2008? Maybe she will send you a picture of herself and a thank you letter.

Newt Gingrich this evening, in answer to a question: Condi would be better as the vice presidential candidate, since running for the presidency is unbelievably grueling and would be tough on a first-time campaigner. Or she could also run for Senate and then get to the presidency that way.

On Hillary: She will be the Dem candidate but we can beat her in the general election. He mentioned Jeb, Mitt Romney, Frist, Owens, Allen, Pataki, Giuliani maybe some others as possibles for the GOP.

I see Condi as a Vice Presidential candidate

Okay, but I happen to think that she can beat Hillary and would be a great president.

"Okay, but I happen to think that she can beat Hillary and would be a great president."

I agree, and if somebody has a better idea of somebody else who can defeat Hillary in 08, I'm all ears.

Personally I think Dr. Rice would mop the floor with Hillary.

A lot of the opposition I am reading is "such and such has never happened before".."no one has been elected pres. without holding elected office", etc... if nothing ever happened for the first time, the universe wouldn't exist.

Condi in 08!

Bones

Dr. Rice doesnt want the position. Hillary will never get it.

Too soon to say that Rice doesn't want the job, but if you could be the fist black woman to be president, how much would you want it? Hillary certainly can win and probably will.

No anti-life candidate will win the GOP nomination in '08.

If they did, Hillary would walk it in.

Guiliani would have a better chance of beating her.

Guiliani probably can't get the nomination.

I tend to agree, but Condi is currently exercising her duties at the pleasure of the president so we don't know her positions on many issues. Also, Before she can be considered for president she needs additional national and international exposure; even though she carries herself quite well on the national stage she needs some miles under her feet and a few battle scars.

Some big international wins as Sec State will go along way to bolstering her credibility but she needs some practical political and management experience.

Would I vote for her? If she's all she seems to be, I sure would. 2008? maybe not.

A lot is going to depend on how the mid term elections turn out in 2006. Dean is going to take the RAT party so far to the left, that I would predict that the Repubos are going to consolidate their Congressional majority even more in '06. The RATs have always tried to put on their "moderate" face, but since Bill The Rat's term ended, they have exhibited a panic the likes of which I haven't seen in politics since 1964 and they have inadvertently dropped the mask. On top of that, their allies in the sycophantic MSM have really come unglued; the latter clearly no longer has a monopoly on determining the direction of political dialog in this country.

In order to regain lost ground, the RATs are going to have to come up with a believable moderation; that may not be possible. Only Joe Lieberman remains as what appears to be a "moderate". And to top it all off, the stupid bastards put Nancy Pelosi as the House minority leader, Harry Reid, the Senator from the Asylum as Senate minority leader, and now, much to my delight, that maniac Howard Dean in the DNC chair. Couple that with the likes of the junior Senatrix from California, the dishonorable Bouncing Babs Boxer, the senior Senior from Massachusetts, the senile Teddy (Fat Boy - I like to Swim when I'm Drunk) Kennedy, and you've got the makings for a real comedy.

The only possible fly in the oink-ment (pun intended) would be that Bush's second term becomes a disaster; that Iraq falls into a three way (or more )civil war, that the Balkans heat up again, that the Israeli-Palestinian problem re-ignites, that the Iranians provoke military action. Of course, the RATs have no concrete plan to deal with any of that anyway. No, I think the RATs are about to really self-destruct in a big way - and its about time. The scum-suckers have been draining America dry for too long.

I could live with the idea of a black person achieving a high office.

surely you didn't mean that the way it sounds. Wouldn't you be proud to vote for Condi, not because of her color, but because she has brains, and class. Did you see how she replied to Barbara during the nomination hearings?

Methinks Condi is going to be an unusually strong and active Sec of State. She will be better-positioned than most to go straight from an appointed position to high elective office. IMHO.

My bet is that it is enough to deny her the Repubo nomination. More importantly, whether people want to think it or not, the United States is not ready for a woman President.

Like we need the jerk to tell us that Dr. Rice is presidential.

"Jerk", if you are referring to Morris, remember how anti Hillary he is. He can't be all bad!
