To stop Hillary, draft Condi - Dick Morris

As a social conservative and deeply religious person, she would face no bar in winning the votes of the Christian right, so crucial to winning the Republican nomination. Unlike former New York Mayor Rudy Guiliani (R) and Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) — both of whom could probably win in November — she would be very attractive to the pro-life, anti-gun-control, anti-affirmative-action base of the GOP.

America longs to put the period on the disgraceful chapter in our nation’s history that began when the first slave arrived at Jamestown, Va., more than 400 years ago. We also want to send a message to every girl, and every African-American or Hispanic baby, that there is no ceiling and that you can rise as far as your ability will carry you.

I'd vote for Condi first.

I am firmly convinced that the first black President and the first woman President will both be Republican. Whether either will be Condi remains to be seen.

I like hearing Dick talk politics, he talks a good talk, but he's often wrong. He should also lose some weight, the double chin looks bad on him.

I'd prefer Condi as a VP candidate in '08. She's great.

And if the secrets and baggage (Slick Willie) she's toting aren't making her look like a 'Bag Lady', any comparison to Dr. Rice certainly will.

Glad to hear you say this.
I have brought the same point up several times. Condi is a jewel in the making. but , she needs to have won an elected office.

The last Republican I can think of who did not run for any office at all and was elected Potus, I believe, was Eisenhower.

Condi is brilliant but she really needs to win an office on her own, any office, anywhere and then its VP or Pres.

Look at what Hitlery did. Even she realized she had to win somewhere as arrogant as she is.

Condi is reported as saying she is "mildly pro-choice" and "regrettably pro-choice". Not good enough to get the evangelical vote. And not good enough to get mine.

I am dissapointed that Condi isn't solidly pro-life, but after President Bush stacks the Supreme Court with pro-lifers there won't be much she could do even as President.

Condi is supurbly qualified and her impact as the Republican candidate and then President would disrupt American politics for most of a generation and could pretty much finish the Democrats as a national party.

That's beyond a doubt. It's not a matter of "if" but "when."

You mean you would vote for Hillary just because Condi has views different than yours? I don't get it.

Since when is she pro-life? Am I missing something?

She's got the reverse Cuomo view.

Abortion is okay, but Roe vs Wade should be overturned and the decision left to the states to regulate.

Might not matter, she believes in abortion but thinks Roe vs Wade should be overturned.

I read the stories about her abortion views, she's supports abortions but thinks Roe vs Wade should be overturned.

You figure that out.

I've read a few articles about Condi Rice awhile back, where she supports abortion but thinks Roe vs Wade should be overturned and the matter left to the states.

i think Dr Rice could win right out the gate... no prior elections. i really do. as long as a 3rd party doesn't take conservative votes, she would win in a landslide.

what happens with her success in diplomacy between now and 08 having bearing on that of course.

and i do think Hitlery will be the Dem candidate..

just my 2 cents

She'll have to change her tune or '08 is out of the question.
