Preaching optimism and slamming Democrats, conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh was greeted like a rock star by a packed San Jose Civic Auditorium audience Tuesday night.
``We are in the midst of a seminal historic shift in this country,'' Limbaugh, 54, told audience members who paid $40 a ticket and welcomed him with a standing ovation. ``The Democrat party and the media have lost their monopoly. They don't rule the roost anymore.''
Other than one swear word and a slightly off-color story about Sen. Ted Kennedy's sex life, his fare was largely that of his radio show -- the country's most popular with some 20 million listeners.
He praised President Bush and demonized Democrats and liberals, to great cheers.

What was the "swear word" ?? Anybody know?
Ping!
Murky Nuz reporters still write in crayon.

Probably said "heck"
Ted Kennedy's life IS an off color joke.
"Liberty"
Hard to believe that the reporter was so fair. I would have thought that the Merc would have really slammed.

It would have been too obvious since Rush was a sell out as predicted. With the far-left running on very thin ice, their normal BS smear tactics would not have played well -- amazingly someone at the far-left Mercury made an intelligent call. (must have been a screw-up!) chuckle.
Roger's OK but I look forward to Rush coming back tomorrow.
You are oooozing with sarcasm. I wouldn't touch that if I were you. Maybe he meant a historic shift is coming.
Most likely is was Damn.
Rush sometimes tells the story about Senator Sam Erwin of Watergate fame. Erwin was shown a picture of Teddy Kennedy at sea on his boat in the act of having sex with young woman.
Erwin looked at the picture of Kennedy and the young lady having sex for a moment then remarked, "I see the Senator from Massachusetts has changed his position on offshore drilling."
Yeah ... I was visiting San Jose last October when the Murky Nuz came out with their ringing endorsement of Kerry critter.
I lived in SJ for thirty five years. Got to the point where I couldn't read the paper. Found Rush.
Excellent story!!
Aside from it's Senator Sam Ervin, that's the best joke of the day for me. I can't believe I haven't heard it before!
The story must be true, It seems the story was being tolded around Washington D.C., for quite awhile...Its' like the Dodd/"Swimmer" "Waitress Sandwich" story...They (the Democrats) seem to use these stories, to glorified their "power" in Washington, by impugning, the mores of the Country-at-large, like Bubba Klintoon did, in the '90s.
