Teresa Heinz Kerry got a bad rap during the presidential campaign, her husband said Monday.
Democratic Sen. John Kerry, who lost his bid for the White House last November, told New York City radio host Don Imus that incidents on the campaign trail were blown out of proportion.
"I was really upset about that on a personal level," the Massachusetts senator said during the interview, aired on WFAN-AM radio and also broadcast on MSNBC.
Reports had circulated during the campaign that Heinz Kerry who is known for speaking her mind could be a bit disruptive.
"We all know there were a couple statements here and there that got blown up, but the fact is she campaigned her heart out," said Kerry.
He said a recent article on the matter was gossip. "I'm not going to worry about it. You know, that article is like having a colonoscopy and you move on."
In other comments, Kerry said the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks were the "predominant overriding element" in his election loss.
"I think that in the end, an awful lot of people were unwilling to switch commander in chief in midstream," he said, adding that his support was going up in the week before the Nov. 2 vote, but flatlined after a new tape of Osama bin Laden was released.

LOL! If you're ever in a hurricane I'd have to say, go naked!
He's still pondering what went wrong with his campaign?! Move on already!
And be sure to bring the Gin and raisins.....
};o)
If Kerry had displayed that kind of sense of humor, he might have gotten more votes. Thank G-d he didn't.
Actually, for once he'd be right if he were to say "It's all Bush's fault!"
LOL - and I'm happy to say...I helped it be Bush's fault :-)
"I was rather surprised that Kerry got as many votes as he did. Kerry came out of the woodwork, I wonder how many of those that voted for him, had heard of him before he campaigned. He barely attended his senate responsibility."
I sincerely believe that people were not voting FOR John Kerry; they were voting AGAINST George Bush. The hatred for Bush runs incredibly deep. Every single Dem friend I have said they were voting against Bush, not for Kerry. (And Kerry won Wisconsin, barely.)
Luckily, Republicans prevailed. And I thank God every day for President Bush's re-election. I don't even want to begin to think about how things would be today had Kerry won. Or Algore in 2000. *SHIVER*
Lurch has to keep his mouth shut or he gets no spending money.
John F. Kerry reminds us again why we are so glad he lost.
Whack...(the sound of PaMom hitting herself on the forehead) thats what I have been doing wrong...I haven't been soaking them long enough.
Hey thanks for reminding me I need to stop off for some gin, lol!
Gigilo just needs to shut up period regardless of the reason! Hey - the gin and raisens are on me this time! LOL!
He's Teresa's momentary amusement, that's all.
Maybe Terasa is giving him grief for the picture(at Drudge, now) of him with Pelosi.
Perhaps Kerry should blame it on the Bossa Nova?
" What did he say to Imus about form 180? "
Kerry dissembled . He told Imus that he wanted to know exactly what was in his files before releasing them and that he would confer with the Navy, beforehand.
Unlike President Bush who directed the Air Force to release any and everything without it being sanitized through 1600 Pennsylvania .
This Kerry guy, whom I had never heard of before your election, is truly a sad, pathetic individual. Yeah, Osama Bin Laden was to blame for his loss.....yeah, that's it. Then the POS goes on to blame 9-11......yeah, Mr. Kerry, wouldn't want to show the victims of 9-11 any respect now, would you, I mean, why bring that up?
