Perhaps a bit of "freeping" will help this Brit understand the American Culture a bit better--especially the Red State Culture!
Funny thing is--this is a British Company, and apparently they've had no complaints over there, as the t-shirt is only being removed from American issues of their catalog.

Well go figure! Someone probably just got up in the morning and was trying to find something to complain about.
This owner probably would have been better off making a statement acknowledging the complaint and etc but then saying that he hoped his customers would look for other shirts or apparel that they would prefer to buy or something to that effect. There aren't near the people who would not be offended as the few who are and they don't count.

We don't see any guns in our household. And now every criminal in the world knows you are unable to protect yourself!

I work a couple of hours a day at a K-2 school in the kitchen.
One day I put up the picture below as a joke with the caption: "This property protected byDeputy Barney Fife."
The next day it was taken down.
"Why", says I.
"Can't have guns in school", said Teach! ![](http://donknotts.tv/photos/tags/tags(3).jpg)
