The problem with the poll is that some answering 'no' may believe women have better opportunities than men through affirmative action. It would be my take, but I voted 'yes' because a 'no' vote will be interpreted as saying women have fewer opportunities.

This is about putting women into direct combat, I believe. because other than that, they do have equality.

Myself, I wouldn't want my son injured in the heat of battle and have to depend on a woman lifting him on her shoulders and getting him out...men and woman are different, duh

Men have more shoulder muscles and when it counts - I'd rather have a guy there to haul my butt out.

(and before someone presupposes I'm a macho man - I'd a grandmother of 15 grandkids... ;o)

I voted No

Because the simple biological fact is women give birth to children. Since all things are not really equal in life, or should they be forced to be equal.

Do we force people a man with an IQ of 65 have the same opportunities as one with an IQ of 120.

As with women, when you give birth, you automatically give up some opportunities in life because you are called to a greater cause.

To raise up the future generation.

Now if a women decides not to have children, then all is equal

Flame away

Also, There is a difference between natural rights and opportunties, don't confuse the two before you get your panties in a wad.

I am hoping they objectively illustrate how the disparity is negligible. I also would hope that the Iowa Channel is using this poll to demonstrate how the media is guilty of manipulating public opinion...I won't hold my breath.

Voted, I find it interesting that two thirds say no. However, we constantly see women in prestigious places, the TV station itself has two women and two men, women are sports announcers on the field at the games, women own and coach teams., women are in as many places as men. I do not recall seeing anypplace where there were no women.

I am old enough to recall when there was a prejudice against women
, the thought was men could do a better job, I applied once for a car sales job, when I called the number for an appointment to test, I was asked if I was calling for my husband (Im not kidding) I told him no, I was calling myself, I was invited in, took the test, and scored high, then was told that he did not to hire a woman did not think the public would accept. He invited me in as a novelty.
I did not know any better then, that was the way it was, would not happen today.

If you think women should be like men, then the answer to the poll is no. If you think women are special, and different, and should play by a different set of rules created over thousands of years of biology, then, buy golly, the answer is yes.
