Here in L.A. one could watch both without conflict. SOTU was at 6, AI at 8.

Relax, I watched AI the last 2 nights. We really enjoyed it, just good clean fun, far better than most filth on TV these days. There was one girl who auditioned in a trashy skimpy outfit, but the judges told her that it was inappropriate. We'd be better off with more shows like AI, and less like The OC.

I think that was just his way of admitting that viewership for the actual speech was far higher than the for the 2nd hour of coverage, which consisted of just media analysis and the Democrat('s laughable!) response.

Okay, so they were not in direct competition anywhere. What a waste of a siren. (As in of course more people watched AI over the SOTU... including in this house. My [and most] kids don't thrill to politics.)

The 9 PM total combined average on ABCCBSFOXNBC hit a 22.4 rating/31 share.

That compares to an Amerian Idol doing a 17.9 share.

What that shows is Bush got a 22.4 while the Democrat response got an 11.8.

He combined the ratings for the Presidnet with the rationg for Reid and Pelosi. Under that circumstances Amerian Idol won by 3 tenths of a point.

But the truth is Bush beat the crap out of american Idol..... 22.4 to 17.9.

Consider that Rather has been getting a 5.5 or so.

Bush had all the Anchors to the White House yesterday afernoon. After it was over Bush went up to Rather and asked him if he was retiring to Texas after he leaves CBS. Rather replied that he was. Bush then told Rather, "I'll be retiring to Texas.. too.... IN FOUR YEARS!"

Chris Wallace was at the white house meeting. He did not ever understand what a put down that was. I cam convinced that Wallace is dumber than a sack of rocks.
