KOBE SURPRISE
New York Post ^ | 02/03/2005 | By BARRY BORTNICK in Denver and MARSHA KRANES in N.Y.

February 3, 2005 -- Kobe Bryant's accuser unexpectedly showed up at yesterday's pretrial hearing in her sex-assault civil suit, wearing a wedding ring, with a nervous husband at her side — and a baby on the way. Katelyn Faber, holding hands with her husband, braved a gaggle of media as she walked into the federal courthouse and took her seat before Judge Richard Matsch — no more slipping in through side doors.

It was a clear message from the 20-year-old — who bowed out of her criminal case against Bryant last September — that she's determined to follow through on her civil case, said lawyer Lin Wood.

The bimbo, her druggie husband and their soon to be born crack baby continue their quest for the gold. This makes me want to puke.

Well yeah, maybe she's a bimbo and a gold digger, but these professional athletes should learn to keep their d*icks in their pants and stop messing around on their wives!

Maybe it was indeed "all about the money"

True but if adultery was illegal then how many ordinary American men would be put in jail? As for Ms. Farber, it's obvious that the most important thing to this girl is the golden idol---money.

I don't remember that. I don't think he ever admitted to "rape". Then again, I haven't paid very much attention.

Text of Kobe Bryant statement

September 1, 2004

Associated Press

Text of Kobe Bryant's statement released after a judge dismissed a sexual assault charge against him:

"First, I want to apologize directly to the young woman involved in this incident. I want to apologize to her for my behavior that night and for the consequences she has suffered in the past year. Although this year has been incredibly difficult for me personally, I can only imagine the pain she has had to endure. I also want to apologize to her parents and family members, and to my family and friends and supporters, and to the citizens of Eagle, Colo.

I also want to make it clear that I do not question the motives of this young woman. No money has been paid to this woman. She has agreed that this statement will not be used against me in the civil case. Although I truly believe this encounter between us was consensual, I recognize now that she did not and does not view this incident the same way I did. After months of reviewing discovery, listening to her attorney, and even her testimony in person, I now understand how she feels that she did not consent to this encounter.

I issue this statement today fully aware that while one part of this case ends today, another remains. I understand that the civil case against me will go forward. That part of this case will be decided by and between the parties directly involved in the incident and will no longer be a financial or emotional drain on the citizens of the state of Colorado."

I hardly call that an admission to rape. I call it seeing the other person's point of view.

That's not admitting rape, but just a different understanding of the events.

Read this carefully: "I now understand how she feels that she did not consent to this encounter. "

He's admitting her logic is correct. He's not admitting he recognizes that she has her own point of view.

You're the one that needs to read carefully, sir. He made no admission, and until you can show me that, you're wrong. I don't condone what he did, but you've got to show facts, not inuendos.

I just did. His own words condemn him.

Take out the "how" in the sentence, and see how it changes everything.

Then add it back in, to see that he was admitting to her logic.

And funny how his statement was conditional.

It cannot be used against him in a civil case (so he says).

Too bad the thugs and tattooed gang-bangers have raped the great American game of basketball. I won't watch it anymore. It used to be a team sport. Now it's thuggish streetball played by wannabe rappers.
