Could've come from a vehicle on the highway or a second story somewhere. Repeat: wild speculation.

Planes taking off would be just as bad.
I'd forgotten about it too.

CNN International just showed video of the crash. Fire dept is spraying foam on the building and the aircraft. No word on injuries at this point.

Traffic on Routes 46, 17, 4 and I80 will be snarled all day b/c of this.
To: HAL9000
NBC4 in NY is saying Route 46 is closed. So anyone in that area better find an alternate route this morning.

Yeah, if he doesn't have enough airspeed, it wouldn't matter if he COULD get it off the ground if he can't maintain altitude.
And if the wheels won't come up, or some other mechanical problem, his options are crash now, or crash in a few seconds.

Why must we speculate at all? I mean, it just happened.

Runway 6 TEB. Shorter of the two runways. When airport has a north flow, they usually land 6 and depart 1. Makes me think he was landing.

Why must we speculate at all? Yeah, no kidding. These NTSB folks are just wasting everyone's time going around investigating. We've got enough armchair investigators to take care of this.

If teh pilot is dead and an investigation shows no mechanical reason to abort the takeoff, then there is no way to find out if someone dazzle flashed the pilots with a laser.
Then it would always remain 'speculation'.

Do you know what building was hit? What runway was being used? My husband has a good friend that works in a flavor house there.

has anyone found out what building was hit?
To: BigSkyFreeper
Just one of my pet peeves. I don't know what it is in a person's nature that causes them to think the worst, most nefarious thoughts right off the bat. As if accidents don't happen in a post-911 world.

Dunno yet.
Info still coming in.
Eventually someone will get a live shot on about it.

I drive by there every morning on my commute. Have to take a different route today.
Hope people involved are OK. I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often. Teterboro used to be a rinky dink regional airport, but they want to land bigger and bigger planes there. The number of planes that use that airport is simply astounding. There doesn't seem to be a moment in the day that a plane is not taking off or landing there.
