TERRI SCHINDLER SCHIAVO FEBRUARY DAILY THREAD 2005: TERRI IS OUR VALENTINE!
Free Republic and various sources | December 30, 2004, January 31, 2005 | Florida Voter

*Michael, HAVE A HEART !!!!!For Valentines Day give Terri back to her MOM & DAD, The Schindlers!!!!!!!!*

The Terri Schindler Schiavo Daily Threads are created month to month as we watch local and national news regarding Terri and her family.

Since Terri's supporters are in every time zone, you may see something FIRST. Please share news with us that you don't see here already. Now, why would you want to do that? Terri's Daily Thread for September/October of 2004 was viewed over 15,000 times. Terri's November Daily Thread was viewed over 6,000 times. December's thread is over 3,000 views. January 2005 Daily Thread was a RECORD HIGH!!!!!!! 15, 103 VIEWS!!!!!!

More and more good folks are finding out about Terri and that judicial tyranny would take her life, but for lots and lots of prayer and non-stop lobbying of relatives, friends, clergy, our leaders, the media, a passerby, a cashier - ANYONE who you feel comfortable chatting with.

Folks always want to know how can this be in America or on earth for that matter? Unfortunately, this is really happening to an innocent woman who just celebrated her 41st birthday. She's not the only one but she's the one with devoted parents and siblings who knows what's in Terri's heart. Terri has a strong will to live. That's apparent. It's been 14 years.

Besides, feeding tubes have been around practically since the Civil War. They are not high tech devices. Terri is "not hooked up to machines". Her feeding tube is the diameter of a piece of spaghetti.

Talkin' about Terri is the best way to lobby for her. It is a salespitch to save her life and subsequently, many lives. If you've never sold anything in your life, START NOW. START WITH TERRI.

See Terri's flash movies if you need more information. You can see for yourself that's she's interactive and follows the doctor's instructions.

Visit: http://www.terrisfight.org

NOTE: Terri's December Dailies are noted as a source above. There are lots of important links at the very top of that thread. If you missed Terri's Celebration of Life, you can click on it from there.

AGAIN WE HAVE A NEW RECORD: 15,103 views on the tote board for the Terri Schindler Schiavo January Daily Thread!

The most significant event in Terri's case in January, was the Supreme's Courts refusal to hear Governor Jeb Bush's appeal, after the Florida State Legislature struck down Terri's Law. This once again places Terri's life in extreme jeopardy, though there are other issues regarding her case before the court.

Ooh, I love a fellow convert.

Marjorie Nighbert

As she was slowly dehydrating to death, Marjorie began to ask the staff for food and water. In response to her pleas, members of the nursing staff surreptitiously gave her small amounts. One distraught staffer eventually blew the whistle, leading to a state investigation and a temporary restraining order requiring that Marjorie be nourished......the judge ruled that the dehydration should be completed, apparently on the theory that Marjorie did not have the competence to request the medical treatment of food and water. Before an appalled Stone could appeal, Nighbert died on April 6, 1995.

Richard Routh, 42, was hospitalized with head injuries after a motorcycle accident. He had learned to signal "yes" and "no," could smile and laugh at jokes, when his parents and doctors decided to have him starved. A nurse's aide says that as they stood by the bedside discussing the starvation decision, Routh shook his head "no." Though the coroner's report says he dies of head injuries, he had lost thirty pounds during the hospitalization. The autopsy showed that he had not been given painkillers to ease the pain of starvation.

It...is...time...to...stop...this...demonic...trend...!!!

I used to keep on my FR page a listing of all those I found who had been killed like this by family. There were a lot.

If you ask around, you will likely find what I did, that people you work with and had always found to be good people, have done this to Grandma or Aunt Bessie. Mostly because of Alzheimers or dementia in old age.

A coworker of mine recently had her mother hospitalized for dehydration, and was puzzled when they kept her mother and did not send her back to the nursing home. She had been re-hydrated. Then a "hospice worker" showed up, and explained to the family that the mother had Alzheimers and could not swallow.
After that it's all an old story for you by now. I asked her for specific details and she admitted to me that one night was very bad, the pain appeared to be unbearable and they were pretty much unable to make her mother comfortable. After that it went well though, she said.

You think this is gruesome? try reading this and then eating dinner
If you have never had a heart rate of 160 for several days in a row, believe me, it would be a very uncomfortable experience. I think this was one of the most evil things I have read. They made her death into a documentary, with a good chance she could hear them and understand what they were saying. The nazis have little on us now, imo.

Ok I will leave you alone now. Thanks for listening and learning. It's a big, big picture.

It is obvious to anyone that Terri is referring to ventilators and other *real* life-support. No way is she talking about a feeding tube! Lord, help us!

Thanks - yes, some very interesting stuff here.

This is why Mikey keeps ducking out of his depositions. He always gets himself into more trouble, every time he opens his mouth.

Ohian,

You are doing a great job! I can't believe the number of threads in the last few days.

Actually, I guess I can. I remember the last time, and what a roller coaster ride it was. This time Terri and the Schindlers have to win - for good! - and Terri just needs to go home and be done with this.

That is some story about Marjorie. You have great info.

It goes to show you, folks better be careful about signing any right-to-die documents. They don't know what they are getting into, and also, they might chance their minds when they become ill or disabled.

A few years ago when I hung out here, last time they tried to pull her tube ( or did, that is) I had quite a collection of previous victims. When they pulled her tube I could barely function. I didn't want to eat or drink because of what she was enduring. So I had to leave the threads to maintain some sanity.

Anyway most of the names have stuck with me. It's not something you can easily forget when they do this to a human being.

Btw did you notice how on the Nancy Cruzan documentary transcript, the doctor just finishes "explaining" that she cannot respond to anything around her. And right after that the father says something like "Boy she sure responds to you" as the nurse talks to her and opens her can of feeding solution.

It would be funny if it were not so terribly sad. I think Nancy had lots of awareness and was sold down the river as a closed case.

I always think it is so important to know your enemy. And ours has been in the dark for some time now from most of us.

I'm seeing videos of Terri on tv, & while they show that she is not brain dead, there are better videos. I'm going to e-mail some media outlets, and give them a link to a better video of Terri.

I hope some of you will join me in this effort and pick out your favorite video of Terri, and send a few media outlets the link.

My favorite video of Terri is the one where she laughs when her dad reminds her of when she used to tease her mother, and roll her eye (Terri had "lazy eye").

If anyone wants to see this video, provided by bjs1779, which only takes a minute, visit:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/bloggers/1345652/posts?page=28

Then go to Post #28 & click the link.

Keep in mind when Terri makes sounds, she is attempting to talk, but needs therapy in order to talk. Even without therapy, Terri can say a few words. Sadly, Michael won't allow her to have therapy.

LET ME TELL YOU THIS: There was a poster on another board, who actually started an anti-Terry thread, and after seeing this video admitted that it was compelling and that he never saw this video before.

I clicked on 'view replies' and saw that there were 'no replies'. No replies! No replies?

Well, supercat, I think you are very clever! I like your little quiz. Some Freepers wouldn't even pass it (I have a few in mind that wouldn't, but no need to go there)!

Floridians to call their representatives in support of HB 701, Withdrawing Nutrition and Hydration.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS ON HB 701,
THE FLORIDA STARVATION AND DEHYDRATION OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES PREVENTION ACT

QUESTIONS:

1. What can be done now that the Florida Supreme Court has struck down “Terri’s Law” under which Governor Jeb Bush directed that she be given food and fluids?

2. What can be done that the Florida courts won’t strike down?

3. Since the courts in the Schiavo case maintained there was “clear and convincing evidence” that Teresa Schindler-Schiavo would have rejected nutrition and hydration, how would the proposed bill save her life?

4. Does the bill require nutrition and hydration in every instance in which it has not been specifically rejected by the patient?

5. Some legislators say that since the Florida Supreme Court said denying Terri her food and fluids was a “final judgment”, and the legislature can’t overturn a final judgment, nothing can be done.

FRTL also has a petition for download on prevention of starvation and dehydration.

Marmema I remember that, but vaguely. That was horrible to read about. Terri is going to go thru the same thing. How can we stop it? This has to stop. I would not want to go thru that, nor would I want anyone in my family to go thru it.

Well, supercat, I think you are very clever! I like your little quiz. Some Freepers wouldn't even pass it (I have a few in mind that wouldn't, but no need to go there)!

I'd be curious how many of the people who can answer the indisputable factual questions right say she should be starved to death. They, after all, would seem like the ones whose opinions should be most valid. For review:

  1. Michael Schiavo has testified in 1992 that his wife was definitely not a vegetable, and could be expected to live 50+ years TRUE
  2. Michael Schiavo is a space alien from the planet Altair VII. [UNKNOWN]
  3. Michael Schiavo has pledged to marry another woman TRUE
  4. Michael Schiavo's statements of his wife's wishes should be considered trustworthy [opinion, but almost certainly false]
  5. A feeding tube is a big bulky piece of apparatus that keeps a patient bedridden FALSE
  6. Michael Schiavo has spent most of the money won for his wife's rehabilitation on that purpose FALSE
  7. An orange is a form of legume FALSE
  8. Michael Schiavo values his wife's privacy [opinion, but almost certainly false]
  9. There is no reason to believe that Michael Schiavo would ever talk about his wife's gynecological problems on national television in indelicate detail. FALSE
  10. Terri Schiavo should be fatally dehydrated [that is the question, isn't it?]
