California...More Conservatives than Texas or Florida?
US Census, Election | 1-30-05 | Bob J

Posted on 01/30/2005 11:40:42 AM PST by Bob J

Attention all you CA bashers, particularly those of you so filled with jeolosy about the Golden State you can't help posting ignorant and provincial comments.

We won't mention that CA gave this country Ronald Reagan or that this state passed, by wide margins, propositions to eliminate bi-lingual education and restrictions on benefits to illegal aliens. It wouldn't be kosher to mention we just tossed a liberal/socialist Governor out on his derrier. We won't talk about how Free Republic was created in CA, that the first activism chapter was in LA or that the very first DC Rally (The MArch for Justice in '98) that helped launch FR activism around the country was planned and organized in CA by Californians. Let's not compare the size of its economy with other states (If CA were a country, it would have the 7th largest in the world), and that the taxes paid by Californian's pay for much of other states infrastructure projects and welfare benefits. That would be piling on and not a fair fight.

How about we keep it simple and just compare raw numbers of conservatives. According to the latest census and election results in '04, CA has almost 15 million of us, compared to 12 million in Texas and only 8 million in Florida, the next 2 most populous states.

Let me post that again...

Conservative Totals

California - 14.9 million
Texas - 12.7 Million
Florida - 8.3 Million.

Read it and weep..it ain't braggin' if it's true.

So you keyboard cowboys who hate everything and never get off your butt to make something happen, take your ignorant and spiteful comments about CA falling off into the ocean and put them where sun don't shine.

To be honest, the conservative cause could do a lot better without you than without the 15 million conservatives in this state.

Bush made token appearances in CA. They wrote it off before it got started.

Call us when you get rid of Pelosi, Waters, Boxer, Sanchez, and the rest of the Loonies. Then you might have a point.

but see I try to see both sides and take positive action..let me ask you......what do you think would have happened if Arnold DID NOT campaign for Bush....it is a vicious cycle....we all hate it when Dems criticize no matter the outcome but many are doing the same thing here. Once you give someone a damned if I do or damned if I don't proposition then I stop listening.....don't be guilty of the same crap the liberal media elite do......anyone can faind fault.........not everyone can expand on success

I think that maybe you are being oversensitive on this and overly defensive.

It really burns me. When the recall happened, it was a perfect time for the conservatives to shine. It was literally handed to us on a silver platter. So what happens??? Here comes Arnold out of no where to save the day for the RINO Party. We must take our party back from the Country Club Republicans that are more in line with the Liberal Club Democrats. Need I say more??

I'll tell you this, Boxer could have been knocked off if they had 20-30 million

That's an average of $2 apiece from each of the California conservatives. I'd think that they loathe Boxer enough to contribute two bucks.

Although, it was that lame Bill Jones who was her opponent...

Hey, it was his turn...heheh.

What's the difference between the JOnes campaign and the Dole campaign?

They tried, but with Bush and the RNC sending out donation mailers arriving by the two's everyday, they sucked off most of the available cash.

BTW - Why should Californian's think they could accompish anything? According to the deep thinking political experts at FR it's worthless and irredeemable and would make everyone happy if it just fell off into the ocean.

Most of the virulent Calibashers are avoiding this thread...they only raise their heads when they are in a pack, like wild dogs.

Not to mention stupidity on parade isn't a good way to go through life.

Get back to me when you get rid of McCain. Until then, you're state is worthless and you're opinion is meaningless to me.

The problem is we are not expanding on success when it comes to the State of California. You stop listening when you are given a damn if you do or damn if you don't proposition. Where did you get this from? The state of California right now is a one party state period and as long as there are Californians who prefer not to make waves and continue on their merry way than the state will continue its destructive path to socialism. I give a damn about this state and that is why I will not accept the status quo.....My apologies for striking a nerve but if you want to stick your fingers in your ears and ignore what is really going on, do so. This is your right but I will do what I can to sound the alarm of the dangerous of RINOS and what they do to the party. California is a perfect example of this.

I see most of the Cali bashing as good fun. Just like when I bash a Marine, being Army I like to give them heck, just like they give to me in return.

We took away one entire county from him and Kolbe now we're working on more it's a slow process when they're entrenched. But we did take Cochise County away from them both. Looks like Maracopa and Pinal are the next two that we'll take away from them.

As a Texan I think its high time your point was made.

Even if you do seem mad about it, cant blame you much.

I stopped bashing CA once I realized how many conservatives are here on FR.

I was talking about you giving the damne if you do scenario...not directly but you bashed Arnie for going to Ohio but what do you think would have been said if he didn't ......and all this talk about RINO's...who the heck did GWB have as his highlight speakers at the convention......McCain, Guilliani and Arnold.....so I guess Bush is a RINO too......I don't stick my fingers in my ears and I do my part to my own justification....I defend Calif against those who know nothing about it here.......since you live here, I give you your due
