It is now 3 am in Iraq the polls will be opening in the next few hours as the world watches and hold's it breath. Iraq is about to undertake a historic vote.
Lets wish them well....... please post all comments and election photos to this thread.
Good thing nobody watches that network.
I haven't been able to stomach Scarborough since I read this:
Lori Klausutis
Another intern death received very little media attention outside the congressional district of former U.S. Congressman Joe Scarborough in Northwest Florida.
Lori Klausutis was an intern who had been working in Congressman Scarborough's office as a constituent services coordinator since May, 1999. Due to Congressman Scarborough's shocking announcement he was retiring from Congress, Lori was excited about a new job possibility. She was married, lived in a nice home and was active in her Catholic Church congregation. Lori's husband, Dr. Timothy Klausutis worked in research and development at Eglin AFB. A seemingly idyllic life - until the morning of July 19, 2001 when Lori was found dead in Scarborough's congressional offices.
Lori's death was ruled accidental. Conflicting statements were released to the local press by Dr. Michael Berkland, the medical examiner, who reached this conclusion: Dr. Berkland, speculated that Lori had suffered an abnormal heart rhythm, due to a previously undiagnosed heart condition, causing her to fall, striking her head against a desk. This caused a blow to the head severe enough to cause death.
Many found this finding disturbing as there was a 7 1/2" gash on the wrong side of her head where she supposedly fell and hit it on a desk. Further dissatisfaction was expressed due to Dr. Berkland's own questionable background:
He was fired as Medical Examiner in Jackson County Missouri in 1996. In 1998 the state of Missouri revoked his license to practice for a minimum of six years. He was suspended as Medical Examiner in Florida for having failed to report that he was under investigation. The revocation of his license imperiled at least nine criminal convictions in Missouri.
In Special Report published on American Politics Journal, August 8, 2001, "Never Bound by the Truth", Chris George and Denis Wright further supplied proof of Dr. Berkland's troubling medical history including two cases in which a reversal of judgment has been sought based on false testimony by Dr. Berkland. While the case is officially closed, there continues to be a demand that it be reopened and an impartial investigation be conducted.
Rumors and speculation ran wild in Scarborough County regarding a relationship between Lori and Joe. Despite his recent reelection in 2000, a scant few months later, amidst rumors of infidelity with an office worker and then divorce, Scarborough shocked everyone by announcing his retirement from Congress. His job as publisher of the Independent Florida Sun also became part of his past when Scarborough announced his resignation in order to spend more time with his sons.
Joe Scarborough can now been seen weeknights on MSNBC as host of Scarborough Country.
Guess I'd better get to bed then. Rita Cosby reminds me of the kind of woman that will still be in a bar 30 minutes before last call.
The funniest thing I have heard tonight was that one polling place will be open shortly as the polling people stopped to have breakfast. They were explaining that very few Iraqi's get out that early even to vote as they will stop to eat first.
Labia Colgan disgusted me. It was clear that she puts her ideology ahead of humanity. She's be prefectly pleased to see Iraq fall apart so long as it helps the Democrat party. These people are so myopic and conscienceless.

Seven people were arrested following the rocket attack on the US Embassy that killed two Americans, the US military said today.
"Following the 7.45pm attack on the embassy, the men fled the scene of the rocket launch, but were tracked to a residence in south-eastern Baghdad," the statement said. "Task Force Baghdad ground troops descended on the home, detaining all seven suspects."
"This was a great example of quick reaction on the part of some superb cavalry troopers," said Brigadier General Michael Jones, assistant division commander for the 1st Cavalry Division and Task Force Baghdad.
"It's one more example to the insurgents that Iraqi and multinational forces will hunt down those responsible for these acts of terrorism."
The rocket fell into the Embassy's compound on the eve of Iraq's national elections near the building itself in the heavily fortified Green Zone in central Baghdad.
One civilian and one navy sailor, both assigned to the Embassy, were killed in the rocket attack, a military official said. Four Americans were injured.
Meanwhile, Labor leader Kim Beazley said Australia's embassy should still be moved to Baghdad's fortified Green Zone despite the attack on the US mission.
Mr Beazley today renewed his call for the Australian embassy to be moved into the Green Zone, but admitted that would not make it immune to attack.
"Nowhere is safe in Iraq ... but there are places that are safer than others, and the Green Zone is safer than just about anywhere else in the area where there is intense insurgency, and that includes Baghdad," he told the Seven network.
Australian diplomats should remain in Iraq even if the country descended into civil war following today's election, Mr Beazley said.
"The things that they're dealing with, the fact that they're there is pretty important," Mr Beazley said.
"So I would leave the diplomats there but it's time they were in the Green Zone.
"If they could not do their job then you wouldn't, but at the moment all the advice seems to be that they can at least do some useful things."
I'm not sure...
For real, Imus is right, he's like the banjo kid from Deliverance. Only he would prefer Ned Beatty in the person of the Klein guy who runs MSNBC to pork him in his a$$.
Even as brave as these souls are I can't see anyone standing in a line outside a building for any length of time.
Maybe you shouldn't use this site to publish unsubstantiated and damaging rumours.
Forgot about that. You are probably right.
I got the article from another FreeRepublic post and saved it.
I hope you're right. I think what happens in Iraq in the next 10 hours will have a lot to do with how Kerry is treated.
John Kerry will be on Meet The Press?
Does this mean he's back in the USA, or will this be some sort of remote feed from his palace at Versailles?
Didn't he used to be a Senator or something? What happened to that gig?
What's a "network"?
The MSM just wants Bush to lose.
It's sick.
Fox News...reporter with a portable video device says things were quiet during the 1st hour at Mosul polling station he is covering, but now voters are filing in. Looks like the Iraqis were just eating bluberry pancakes or something :-)
