We invite and request your prayers every day this week for the Iraqi elections on Sunday. This is a pivotal event in World history, and a vitally important one for our country and administration as well. Please pray for the safety of all those, including our brave military, who are putting themselves at risk to make this election happen.
Pray for a huge turnout, and that Iraqi voters are kept safe from those who would intimidate and frighten in order to perpetuate their evil.
I feel absolutely certain that our President is praying about this event and for his brave soldiers daily. While he probably would not choose to call publicly for prayer, I feel that he would be overjoyed and strengthened to have Americans and people of faith all over the world join him in this.
Please pass this along to others that you know who would like to informally join us in this prayer vigil.
Amen, Jeff. I, too, will join in this prayer, in the midst of my own personal stuff. Noble causes should be supported in this fashion.
And all of us who read the Bible know who will win the inevitable triumph. We also know the evil one can do a lot of damage on his way down.
I'm joining in the prayer for safe, secure, enthusiastic, extremely high voter turnout, DEMOCRATIC elections.
Thank you for joining your prayer with ours, yldstrk.
Thank you. :-)
I had only a moment this morning and wanted to make sure this thread wasn't lost, so I pinged myself. Plan to return to this thread later today when I have some time.
Soul Seeker, I've been wondering what we can do to make sure this thread does not get lost every day for those who didn't see the original. Maybe post a new thread in Announcements each morning pointing to this one? Or perhaps you know a better way. I'm open to suggestions.
Checking in, JustaCowgirl...glad to see the thread is still going on.
It's a beautiful thing!
We will keep it going all week, peacebaby. Feel welcome to add your prayers and thoughts as you are moved to do so.
May they have the courage they need to vote, and guns they need for defense....
Amen, Wizard. And the skill to use them when and where needed. Thank you for your prayer.
my pleasure.....
The men of my church, some 800 of us, are praying for the elections.
Thanks for the ping prayers for families of the 31 killed in the helicopter today.

Joining in prayer
Father, once again we're reminded of the high cost some pay for freedom & peace. Hear our prayers for comfort & love for the families of our dear Marines. May their names be remembered always for their sacrifice for a suffering people & may the people of Iraq draw inspiration from their courage as they make their way to vote. Amen
Father, we ask your blessing on this enterprise. So much sacrifice and loss has led to this time, but we've also seen steadfast courage & fortitude & exceptional leadership. We pray that with your help this suffering people will find a way to the polls & rejoice in their freedom which is your gift to us. Amen
