WOULD YOU LET YOUR DAUGHTER WEAR THIS PROM DRESS?

PROM princess or porn queen?

This prom dress is so skimpy, even the designer's CEO wouldn't let his teenage daughter wear it. But the dangerously revealing gown, prominently advertised in Seventeen Prom, YM Prom and Teen Prom, and on sale in a Midtown shop, is a top seller for the company this season.

"I was shocked when I first saw it, but now it's one of our top 20 dresses nationwide," says Nick Yeh, the CEO of Xcite, the Stafford, Texas, company that designed the dress and some 200 other styles this season.

"I have a 15-year-old daughter and, no, I would not recommend she wear this dress.

"As a businessman," he adds, "I'm not judging what a teenager should wear or not wear. It's up to the parents to decide for their own children."

In fact, some shops in smaller cities require girls to bring in parental permission slips to buy the dress, Yeh told The Post.

At Elite Designs, a formal shop in Midtown that has the barely-there gown on a mannequin, owner Surinder Nagpal says, "We've gotten a few calls about that dress. Originally, I wasn't going to stock [it], but my sales associate told me that girls would want it, so we're stocking it in black and red."

So far, says Helen Rodriguez, Nagpal's sales associate, no one has bought the $495 gown - but it just arrived.

You know, the girl that got a guy's attention with her smile, brains, and charm than any article of clothing could ever hope to match?

Those girls don't exist and never have. Guys that have choices in the dating world don't go for brains and 'charm' - they go for attractiveness and smoothness and always have. Women do too. Its only when someone doesn't have a lot of choices that they go for peripheral qualities.

This isn't a knock on anyone, its just the way that humans are wired. Even in my Sunday School singles classes, the best looking guys and girls always got all the attention. Its funny too, because the best looking guys were always considered to be the most Godly by the women as well - funny coincidence. :-)

Seeing someone wearing that makes me hear her asking, "Which way to the pole?"

The photo borders on pornography. And, technically, it isn't a formal gown.

#1. Talk about a ripoff @$495.00 for a couple of pieces of cloth attached to a matching skirt. Call it the expensive trashy cabbage patch prom gown minus the blouse!!!!

I consider myself a bit socially liberal, and my daughter could wear a dress like that to the prom ..but it would only be over my dead body probably from a heart attack...

Couldn't have said it better myself.. and you just know... the type of girl that WOULD wear something like that is the same one that would scream "sexual harassment", when guys started to notice.(remember.. in the late'80's I think, some noted psychologist made a finding ,that a naked woman should be able to walk by a man, WITHOUT getting ANY coments/responses/attention).

Maybe in San Francisco, Or Massechutes(sp), that would be possible, for obvious reasons.

I don't know much about the "rag trade" or proms but this looks like a publicity stunt to me. The designer puts out one scandalous dress to create a "buzz," then sells the less scandalous designs into retail outlets. Of course, by then the kids know his name and are attracted to the "danger" of the designer.

Your prom date's dead, you're soaked in pigs blood, and you just torched the school. Talk about a busy night.

You ask why Christians, or anyone else, for that matter, are not doing any real education about how cheap sex is?

The answer-- cause the MAJORITY of them have GIVEN IN to the modern, "do what you want, and dont worry about the consequences", attitude", that is why!( I do NOT just say this in a vacuum-- I was in a church as a teen, and several of the teenage girls ended up pregnant, and had to get married. and ANYONE who made mention of the "sin" aspect of this, well you were shunned. and-- if you wanted to wait, and be pure, for your future mate, -- well, you were laughed out of the youth group.

BTW--- That was 20 years ago-- most of theose women are on the 2nd or 3rd marriages, some, with deadbeat, LOSER ex'husbands.

And you say, "why wear any clothes at all, just let the orgies begin"-- Well, we are ALMOST there. If the Lord allows this planet another decade, before saying "ENOUGH!", -- we will be at that point.(UNLESS.. enough people decide it is time, to go back to the days, when people respected each other, and GOD).

....As I have said SO many times before, about other hedonistic and immoral things..... IT IS ALL PART OF THE BIG PLAN!!
