A day in the life of President Bush (1/23/05) photos

The first family attended church this morning. Afterwards, the President headed to Camp David where he was to meet with his advisors to work on his State of the Union Address.

QUOTE OF THE DAY: At this second gathering, our duties are defined not by the words I use, but by the history we have seen together. For a half century, America defended our own freedom by standing watch on distant borders. After the shipwreck of communism came years of relative quiet, years of repose, years of sabbatical - and then there came a day of fire.

Some, I know, have questioned the global appeal of liberty - though this time in history, four decades defined by the swiftest advance of freedom ever seen, is an odd time for doubt. Americans, of all people, should never be surprised by the power of our ideals. Eventually, the call of freedom comes to every mind and every soul. We do not accept the existence of permanent tyranny because we do not accept the possibility of permanent slavery. Liberty will come to those who love it.

It's like being in a frat house.

What an excellent description. It's exactly like that. And the weekday version isn't much better. But those three on the weekend are so shallow they're almost transparent.

If "I" were first lady, I would have come home from church, put my flannels on, given the servants the day off, and read a book/snoozed all day. I'd just have to catch up after all the fun.

Good analysis I also think their friendship has deepened over the last 4 years they have certainly gone through enough together.

Did you hear a couple of GWB talks at the balls where he was praising the VP and he emphasized the "next 4 years" almost getting in first before we get the rumours of when will the Vice President step aside.

**Think they will get a bit mashed up through the cable and phone lines LOL**

Well, maybe you could send us some bangers and mash, snugs. I love bangers and mash.

If you all would, please say a special prayer for our troops.
I just got a message from a soldier in Baghdad that it's getting a little hairy over there and they are anticipating some bad days.
Thanks!

Yes, there wasn't any doubt about what message W was sending, was there? "Don't even think about it, you leftists, he's staying."

Yup, the Left Coast extends a long way north and south. We have some friends who like to visit Nova Scotia for extended periods of time. They are both fairly liberal, I suspect the politics of that region must appeal to them.

Although they are both musicians and like the musicians from that area.

We all need to be saying special prayers for our troops and for the success of the Iraqi elections, all this week.

The weekend crew at FoxNews has always been weak. But lately they've just become like a bunch of chattering monkeys. A frat house is an excellent description....bunch of juveniles.

They insult my intelligence and we rarely watch on weekends anymore....at least until Fox&Friends is over. Juliette is a draw for the guys though....LOL!

We were on vacation up in Canada and there was a seagull who was small and obviously having trouble. We made sure she(?) got fed every day, and when we had to leave we left a note for the newcomers asking them to feed her. Hope they did!

My sister met her Canadian husband in college in the states. They are planning to move back to the states within the next few years. He went back to go into a business his father was in; I think that's why they went back there.

Absolutely, I wonder what he will be doing for his 64th birthday on the 30th.

At least during the week they can actually report the news and they're not so immature. I can't stand Imus and won't watch CNN, so during the week I'm limited in the early hours.

A few weeks ago on the weekend they kept talking about one of them getting drunk the night before and being hung over. They even showed a wastebasket with his name on it in case he had to throw up. Today they were talking about Juliette getting dumped all the time. There's just way too much sexual innuendo going on . . .

Yeah, tell them to stop with the tired, depressed talk. They have me so upset that I had to reach for the pack of Kitkats to calm down. LOL

Yep, that's my idea of a First Lady Sunday. I hope that's just what she did. And don't forget your 'house' would be perfectly clean, so you wouldn't even have to feel guilty just sitting around!

Absolutely. I was including them in 'our' troops, as well. I really believe that this election is one hinge on which the future of the world will swing, I absolutely do.

We all need to be praying unceasingly for the success of this election.

Juliette is the best of them; if she's away from the "only one thing on their mind" guys, she can conduct a decent interview.
