The first family attended church this morning. Afterwards, the President headed to Camp David where he was to meet with his advisors to work on his State of the Union Address.

Sounds like an interesting major; have you read "Prey" by Michael Crichton? It's about nanotechnology. Very interesting. I learned a lot. Kind of scary!
Yep, the wind was bitter here too, even tho it was sunny. It was much, much worse tho Friday night and Saturday.

Interesting trying with stew normally in Britain we eat them with roast or chops.

We've been doing the Atkin's thing--cutting out sugar and flour--and I can sure tell the difference in taste and how I feel when I eat sugar and/or flour.
I normally have feathers on me the times I have got to work to be told there is a feather in my hair.
Believe it or not, birds scare me. So there will be no foul at our house! No bats, either--I don't know what category they fall into, but they throw me into a panic attack when they get into our house. I'm getting shivers just thinking about birds. UGH.

Yep, to me they do. I enjoy and/or am fascinated by pretty much any critter God created, even the ones many people find icky, like snakes, bugs, and such.
Some years ago there was a donut shop I stopped by on the way to work every day. A flock of pigeons hung out in the parking lot because people would toss them food. One day I saw a pigeon with a deformed foot. I think it was a hen. Anyway, she couldn't get to the food easily because of her foot, and she looked thin and bedraggled to me.
I began buying wild bird seed and putting some out every day, making sure she got plenty. This went on for months, until finally the donut shop sold out to some other company, and the property was rennovated. I wanted to try to catch her to ensure that she would be OK, but never could. Strangely, when I think about her, I still miss that pigeon.
No flying creatures of any kind . . . unless, like I said, a bat gets in . . .
Well, I'm not actually sure of the fish but I think it is cod. It is the dried fish that Italians make, called bacala, or something like that. I'm not Italian so I'm not sure how it's spelled.
I just put onion, celery, potato, a bit of tomato juice, olive oil, parsley and black pepper in it. The fish is dried and salted, so you don't add salt. You have to soak it in water for a day before you make it, to turn it into fish again from the dry stuff.
Trust me, it's not really worth the bother. I was just out of good stuff and I had it in the fridge. In fact, I just ordered pizza. Maybe we'll have the stew tomorrow!
Pizza goes better with football anyway! Nobody asks for fish stew while watching the game.
Sugar is the reason people feel sluggish and tired and depressed most of the time, they just don't know it.
I think that's one of the reasons the President seems to be so happy and energetic despite the rigors of his job-he eats well. It solves a lot of problems.

My dog is a large black lab. He is extra tall and weighs just under 100 pounds. And I am little. So, I think the contrast is what makes people say stuff.
He was really good tonite. Sometimes he is in "pull mode" and that is a pain.
Bats are mammals. Most species of bats are among nature's must beneficial critters. They eat hoards of insects, and their droppings, called guano, is among the best fertilizers for cultivated crops. Despite their strange appearance, most bats are quite harmless to humans.

I always get hungry for that stuff when I read a British mystery and they are eating!
I like potatoes with a roast -- yummmmmmmy, and it brings back good memories from Sunday childhood dinners. Being on Atkins, I don't get a very large chunk of a potato any more; however, I do like to have the little portion. I was thinking about using the Yorkshire pudding to soak up the stew juice.
