What are Steelers fans thoughts on the QB wearing gloves? ESPN was saying it was a disadvantage, but as I don't really follow the Steelers (or trust the talking heads) I was wondering what fans thought.

He has announced that he's wearing gloves for the game. Does that change predictions?

I think players should be comfortable, with gloves or without doesn't matter to me. I think the problem comes in when a players only wears gloves in cold weather, there's an adjustment period that contains bad play, it should be a commitment to wear them or don't year round.

I played high school ball, tried college, service club football and semi-pro league for one year as a defensive back, wide receiver and quarterback.

I could grip the ball better with gloves. Throwing the ball was easier with gloves and for greater distance because my hand effectively got "bigger." Catching the ball was much easier. The surface of the glove seemed to "stick" to the ball better.

For what it's worth.....however, I know that other FReepers will have other opinions.

I could care less about the stupid glove controversy. It is so overrated.
