The Rams did it from 1974-76 and the Raiders also dropped three in a row from 1973-75.
Man, I love to see young people having fun.
They lost to Green Bay in the title game in 66 and 67, Cleveland in divisional playoffs in 68 and 69, lost to the Colts in 70, and won the Super Bowl in 71.
Of course, both Buffalo and Minnesota have lost four Super Bowls without winning one. Where the Eagles have been doesn't really matter. It's where they go from here. Of course, the Eagles are evil, so I'm hoping for a Patriots victory.
The Broncos were a team that couldn't win the big one until they knocked off the Packers in Super Bowl 32.
this increases further with the quality of the defense (a big factor in this case) and the inexperience of your QB (a lesser, but still present factor in this case). -- yep
while the pass play nearly succeeded, and I think Big Ben made a good decision, I strongly disagree with the call to throw in that instance. -- I wasn't crazy about it either, but I didn't strongly disagree. But I could see how you would.
Did you get that FReepmail on "One for The Thumb"?...... I'm conflicted. I was seriously thinking of putting four figures down on the Patriots.
I saw Owens trying to run around yesterday at practice. He looked pretty gimpy to me.
I think he ought to just make an occasional appearance if he can, but that was supposed to be a pretty bad injury.
You probably know a lot more about that injury than I do.
McNabb was funny on the Sports Center report last night. A reporter asked him what he thought of Owens' workout. McNabb deadpanned: "I didn't see him out there." LOL! Pretty funny guy.
Good thing for Philadelphia I think, McNabb looks pretty loosey-goosey!
Interesting - I was having trouble finding a source for that kind of information. Guess I can't bust the Eagles chops on that one.
Oh well.
Like I said - guess I can't bust the Eagles chops on that one. I will have to think of something else. Maybe we should focus more on the cheerleaders.
Does it really matter.
Well if your looking for something else they are the only team to lose consecutive conference championship games at home.
Didnt I tell you earlier. Your team has not been in the Superbowl very often so you might not know the drill. In the two weeks before the Superbowl, the fans of teams that did not make the Superbowl bust the chops of the fans of teams that did make the Superbowl - it's a long proud tradition.
I like seeing Superbowl victories spread around - it makes all fans think any year could be their year. I am not a fan of Superbowl repeaters (consecutive Superbowls) - unless it is the Redskins (and look what happened to them when they did a Superbowl repeat).
This should be the Eagles year. They have been a powerful force for the last few years and this should be their year. I just find it hard to root for a team that is in the same division as the Redskins (of course it does mean the division is good, at least in part).
The Pat's are tough and the Eagles might have picked the wrong year to win the NFC Championship.
We shall see - but take heed: if feels worse to have your team lose the Superbowl than it does when you team does not make the playoffs - of course that is what makes the weeks before the Superbowl fun.
I think it should be the Eagles year but I can't root for the Eagles although I don't think either team really cares who I root for.
"but take heed: if feels worse to have your team lose the Superbowl than it does when you team does not make the playoffs"
Echo that. I much prefer the years my Steelers didn't make the playoffs to the SB they lost, or even the Conference Championships they lost, much easier to move on, much less crazy dreaming, much fewer dashed hopes.
"Thank you and best of luck.
When it's all said and done, I must say I'm really going to enjoy watching Big Ben grow throughout his career. I guarantee that he'll win the Super Bowl before he retires."
Sorry took me some time to reply. Game now being over I can say that it surprised me that the Pats won by such a large margin, despite losing almost every major stat. As a Pats fan, I thought they would win, but that it would be much closer. Agreed, Ben going to get himself a ring before his career is up.
"Thanks... from another Steeler fan.
You guys are real, real, real, real excellent!
Good luck in the big one! I don't think you'll need much luck, though. You're supeme.
Brady could walk into the Hall of Fame tomorrow."
Would expect that we'll see a Steeler Super Bowl ring in the next five years with the club you have down there. Lot of young talented players. Brady looking like another Joe Montana but am most pleased that the club keeps it low-key on the hype. Eagles have a decent club, but I am pretty confident on the outcome of this one. That AFC Championship game was really the superbowl to me.
The year the Redskins lost (the second time - the first time was 1972 and I don't care that much - darn that Miami perfect season!) was terrible. The Redskins won the previous Superbowl and the next season they pretty much kicked everybody's butt - it was automatic they would win the Superbowl - only problem is somebody forgot to tell Oakland (or was it LA then) - it wasn't even close - seemed the Redskins were so sure of themselves that decide to "mail in" the game.
Yeah but the Skins got their revenge, took 13 years for the AFC to win another Superbowl, pretty mean curse they laid down.
ummm... no. but thanks for playing. although THIS post of yours isn't a blatant lie, just a dumb assumption, so at least you're improving.
wanting to believe something tends to lower one's desire to find evidence to the contrary.
are you sure? stick to NFL conference championship history. er, wait - you don't know that either. never mind!

You are definitely not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

should I just tell you who that lovely young woman is REALLY cheering for, or do you just want some MORE rope? I'm afraid there may be a limit on the number of times I'm allowed to make a fool of you in one day.
