but I guess that isn't enough of an "answer", where "answer" is defined as lockstep agreement with a frustrated non-objective fan.

Well, I'm back and what a great day it's been. Really important things happening in spite of our steel cage football match.

Now, regarding answers I never heard your answer to why the PASS ON SECOND DOWN WAS A BAD CALL. Not that it matters since it's obvious now you just heard it from others and decided to parrot their decision.

One other painfully obvious observation, your comment " people who know more than you do pay me for my analysis.".

Now that's just precious. I see why your motto in life is "some people are dumb".

Cheers...and grow up...soon!

Yeah, I'm really fond of a pro-formation (also known as a splitback or Y formation, with 1 RB to either side of the QB at almost HB depth) when you've got two solid running threats, with one on each side the opposing defense has a hard time knowing who to key off on, great formation to pass from.

Didn't used to be nearly as popular, until some desperate programmer said "dogshows! we can show dogshows!", I don't remember if ESPN actually showed Westminster but I know they started the boom in popularity by shoing one of the shows during the February duldrums.

Anything unexpected, one thing you can always say in football, the most obvious thing is the wrong thing, because that's what the defense is geared to and most likely to stop. Only exception to that is when your offensive line is dominating and you can do whatever you want, then the most obvious thing is the right thing because enforcing your will like that despirits the other team.

Some of us were going to dog shows before ESPN existed. Come to think of it, dogs were invented before football players. They're more popular than football players too--who the heck wants a hulking halfback in their living room?

Yeah but it was ESPN that brought it to TV, at least to a main cable station.

Of course that's part of my problem with dog shows, the only thing they do with the dogs is stuff I never would. Where the sitting on the couch watching TV begging fritos from the owner part of the competition? That's what I want to see in dog shows, how they behave as pets, don't care how a dog looks after it spent an hour on the grooming table, I care how it behaves after spending an hour chasing thrown object in the park.

LOL. They don't need to have a competition, as the all-time winner has already been declared. I was just complimenting her on her begging style an hour ago as she wheedled still another bite from my plate. No hulking halfback need apply.

Yes, that's why down on the goal line those fake handoffs to a running back then a pass to a tight end veering out to either side of the endzone usually end up with the tighend wide open. Passing down near the goal line is a great thing when executed properly. What you said about the "unexpected" is so important.

Play action only works on the goal line if the defense is expecting a run, which means not 2nd down if they stuffed the run on 1st. Now if you passed on 1st play action on 2nd would probably work. Of course all that goes away if the team is the Dolphins anywhere between 1984 and 2003, they had no running game and nobody expected the run ever, which is why the league never bought Dan Marino any jewelry.

man, look at that letdown! one loss in two months. even in reid's FIRST SEASON, they won their last 2 after a 3-11 start.

I think you missed one. Last time I checked the playoffs were part of the season:

NFC Championship L 3-14 vs Carolina (a team they beat earlier in the season)

That was a big letdown (some may say "choke")

IT WAS. I have followed you two on this from the beginning. Take it from a still bummed Steeler fan, you (LVD) meant that St. Louis had won 2 Super Bowls. Lighten up and admit it.

I have already admitted I was wrong (numerous times). Seems Libertarian4Bush is still looking for the second Superbowl St. Louis was in - even after all the hints.

At least you guys have a team to root for in this one.

Not me. The Redskins were out of contention before the leaves fell off the trees.

What does dancing have to do with football?

I don't know about Philadelphia, but in Washington the cheerleaders don't play football.

Yes, that is correct - the Philly cheerleaders are hanging out with the Village People.

! This is getting to be a way too common thing on Cowher's part. Let the players win or lose the game

Is it really worth arguing over, considering the Players, and Cowher only BACKED INTO THE AFC TITLE GAME on two missed field goals in the last 2 minutes of the Divisional Playoff game......

If you control the line of scrimmage you control the game.

Just watched the highlights of Marino's only Super Bowl the other day. 49ers went with six defensive backs and the Dolphins still couldn't run the ball.
