Belichick said himself the Pats will be using an entirely different game plan.
Flashback to the 2002 AFC Championship game:
Jerome Bettis: 9 rushes for 8 yards
Sort of.....
The Steelers won't raise any issues if they win. Hell, ESPN has done nothing but dis the Pats for the last 2 years anyway but the Steelers are the real deal.
And, if their favorite McNabb loses, never fear. Michael Vick is a favorite of suck ups Tom Jackson, Oreo Cookie Stuart Scott and Convicted felon, Michael Irvin.
Absolutely, they played the Colts using only 2 D-linemen at times. How do you stop big backs like Bettis and (to a lesser degree) Staley with 2 D-linemen?
Corey Dillon you mean. Parcells stole Martin right after the 1996 season.
If the glove "sticks" to the ball as you say, don't you think that effects the RELEASE?????????????
There is nothing that is a substitute for the sensitivity of the fingertips on release, as long as the fingers are not too cold.
Throw the damn gloves in the river, Ben.
Yeah right....your state went for Kerry. Pardon me if I look at your predictions with some suspicion.
Which really goes without saying for Belichick, he completely overhauls the game plan every week, doesn't believe in giving any opponent a chance to truly prepare.
Not very well which is why they won't do it in this game.
Too bad the Pats have beaten them twice in the Playoffs in years that they went to the Super Bowl.
Take that Yankee Fan!!!!
Dems won the Presidency twice in the 90s, what's your point?
Consequently, one cannot compare the win vs. the Colts to this game.
The flu stricken LB is/was Ted Johnson. He's apparently much recovered from it.
A little perspective for you:
Corey Dillon: 1635 yards, 4.7 ypc
Edgerrin James: 1548, 4.6 (against Patriots: 39, 3.1)
Jerome Bettis: 942, 3.8
Duce Staley: 830, 4.3
Kevin Faulk: 255, 4.7
As big a choke artist as Peyton Manning is, he's a far superior QB to Ben Roethlisberger. Now, I can't guarantee that we'll limit Bettis to 8 yards like we did in 2002, but he sure as hell ain't gettin 100.
Scuse me????? He took a waiver wire team and beat the Greatest Show on Turf in 2002 SB and then in the 2003 season he lost a ton of guys to injury and still managed to go 14-2 and win the super Bowl.
Cleveland was never that great anyway and give the guy credit, he's learned how to do his job better. Every QB who plays against him regularly has a lower rating than versus other teams, he's built a great franchise with Scott Peoli and he is considered the best coach in the game today.
I remember ESPN was picking against the Pats going into that 1996 fog bowl game as well.
And rolled in the hay with Tara Reid.....
I have that same picture except without A-Rod wearing the hat.
I'm sure Cowher watched the film of that game just like Belichick watched the film of the Steeler-Jet game as well. I bet they both found some things they'll try to exploit and some things they need to worry about.
