Our Patsies did just that on Monday night a few weeks ago. Actually worse than that!
They look good right now though, eh?
1) Brian Westbrook is twice the threat Duce Staley ever was.
2) McNabb was a top five rated passer this season. He's become lethal in the pocket. And, as the playoffs show, that wasn't all T.O.'s doing.
The Patriots are a superb team, and should be favored in this game. I only hope they take the Eagles as lightly as so many Freepers do.
How about reviving a 3-13 embarassment of a franchise, five straight playoff appearances, 4 straight NFC East championships, 4 straight NFC Championship Game appearances and 1 Super Bowl appearance in his first six year as a head coach (on any level).
You give the Patriots coaching staff credit for turning around a bad Jets team and then you wonder aloud what Andy Reid has ever done besides getting fat? Try not to let your hatred for the Eagles or Philly fans drive you to say ridiculous things.
Good Point... However, only one coach in the Super Bowl is 9-0 after bye weeks, and it ain't the Patriot's coach...
Tom Brady only cares about winning games and Corey Dillon is fighting for his first ring. The two of them will keep the team focused.
Donovan McNabb, Brain Westbrook, Terrell Owens, Brian Dawkins, Jeremiah Trotter, Corey Simon, Hollis Thomas and Javon Kearse will also be playing for their first rings.
I think one or two or those guys might care about winning games, too.
Yes, but my point was that the Pats won't be just going through the motions because they are supposedly fat and happy.
Don't forget a word of what you've just written. You are in for the surprise of your sports betting life.
And, he managed to lose the NFC championship game three years in a row and got there this year with a really lousy playoff pool to compete against.
Staley is a power guy who can wear out a defense. Westbrook may be a lot of things but he's not going to allow you to smash the other team in the mouth.
Who did the Eagles play that had a defense in the playoffs?
I don't bet sports and frankly, I have never really understood the logic of calling yourself a winnner because the team you bet on didn't lose by as many points as the conventional wisom claimed they would.
No one will remember if the Pats covered the spread. They don't give trophies out for beating the spread.
Nobody in Eagleville expects anything but a terrific performance from the Pats. They're the champs, they're going to play like champs. I
We're going to have to be perfect to beat them, there's no question in my mind.
Well they were on the road for that game. It seems like it was just the wake up call they needed.
The Eagles beat the teams they played in the playoffs. If the level of competition was so far off from the AFC, I guess that'll show next Sunday, now won't it.
As far a Westbrook v. Duce, you're right about one thing. Westbrook is a lot of things. One of those things that he is is much, much better than Duce Staley.
Even if they had scored I don't think the Steeler defense would have made the big stop when they needed it.
Staley is the guy you give the ball to in Q4 to milk the clock and wear out a defense. Yes, he wore out his welcome in Philly but the Steelers were really happy with him. Corey Dillon wore out his welcome in Cincy and this year he's going to the Super Bowl.
Westbrook is a WR
Have the idiots at ESPN picked Philly yet?
It will be really hard to although Stuart Scott is McNabbs/TO's biggest publicity pimp.
No, he's a running back who happens to catch the football better than any other back in the league. His talents out of the backfield don't negate his talents as a halfback. He's a terrific runner.
Duce didn't wear out his welcome in Philly, he just wanted a chance to be an every-down starter. He ended up being a complimentary back in Pittsburgh, just as he would have been in Philly. The Steelers may have been happy with him in that role, but that's not what they paid him feature back money to be. What they're happy with, more than anything, was how well the team did this season.
