Iraq refuses to say if Zarqawi detained

Iraq's interior minister on Saturday refused to comment on rumors that the top terror leader in the country had been taken into custody.

"I wouldn't like to comment for the time being," Interior Minister Falah al-Naqib said when asked about rumors that Abu Musab al-Zarqawi had been arrested. "Let's see. Maybe in the next few days we will make a comment about it."

Pressing him, a reporter asked, "Does that mean he is in custody?"

"No comment," the minister repeated.

The rumors about al-Zarqawi followed an interview aired on an Arab television station earlier this month in which a Saudi man arrested for a deadly truck bombing claimed that he heard from other insurgents that al-Zarqawi had been arrested by Iraqi police in Fallujah but released because authorities didn't recognize him.

The way some on the Iraqi council covered for and protected al-Sadr, maybe they are trying to deal with al-Zarqawi behind closed doors. After all is said and done, Sadr will end up as VP and Zarqawi as Secretary of Defense or some such.

Why wouldn't they admit it if they really had him? Or is the "no comment" meant to get al-Zarqawi to 'comment'.. I really hope their smarter than that or they will never catch him.

Or maybe they'll release a clip of Zarqawi being guarded by Iraqi police sniveling while pleading for his life with women's panties on his head.

What she'll do is champion his 'rights'. "Why aren't they being open and above board about his status?" Poor Katie.

Why wouldn't they admit it if they really had him?

Well-they have a pair of notchers (used to cut sheet metal) and they are testing them on his gonads [hey, it's the newest lie detector system]. Trying to determine certain facts before they parade him to the latest and fastest court in the world.

Actually, we don't condone or do that stuff but there are a couple of rock/hip-hop/country bands that he gets to hear at 115 db.

The sweet sounds of hiding behind the civilian populace is now gone and so will half of his insurgents shortly.
